Addar Hotel Jerusalem - 耶路撒冷

What we liked was the location-close to the old town, bus station, and the YMCA (where we could use the gym).

Nice location, reliable cab stand there and good beds close proximity to the old city.

The location is pretty good as 's close to the Old City, parking is difficult in Jerusalem and staff are nice.

The location was the best - with an entrance on St George's Street (opp Novotel) and another on Nablus Road (opp American Colony) and a few minutes walk to all major attractions (Old City).

The location is next to a Catholic high school, lots of kids running around.

Our room had a small balcony (though it was too cold to use it), nice sitting area, very comfortable bed, nice furnishings, 2 tvs, and great sized tub-though the jacuzzi did not work and we did not complain about it.

As far as the room, large rooms, separate bedroom and kitchen areas, but the bathtub had dirty grout and the jacuzzi controls were filthy.

The rooms were really shabby, and we had ants in our bed on the first night (on the 6th floor.

Upon getting in to the rooms and starting to unpack, my sister-in-law discovered that several of the lights in her room did not work, the bathroom had not been cleaned, and that the door to the balcony would not close properly.

My wife and I, meanwhile, discovered that our all of our rooms - bathroom, bedroom and living area - were completely infested with ants.

Opposite the hotel is the famous American Colony Hotel; good for a drink in the bar at night.

The rooms were excellent and breakfast food was good (included in our rate).

The breakfast was good and enough selection, but they provided the same thing every day.

The other negative was that the breakfast was not anything near what we had experienced in some of the other hotels we stayed at in Israel.

Actually, on the subject of towels, on the last morning, we quickly ran down to breakfast before showering and forgot to put our "Do not disturb" sign on the door and the director of the hotel came in and took our towels away for cleaning!

This one is by far the best in terms of service, hygiene and food.

Although I was deeply angry with the way the receptionist had behaved, I had no desire to see him lose such a significant amount, and therefore asked again to speak to the manager.

A great place for a drink and friendly staff.

The fitness centre in the hotel was very helpful as well.

Closed to the old city, can easily be reached from the Central Bus station and they have free internet access on a good computer at the lobby.

The hotel does have reasonable rates, mine was $160/night for the 2nd floor (the higher floors had locks on the buttons in the elevator), and when I asked how much it was in Sheckles he said that dollars are better.

They were impressive, extremely clean and had all the extras; from a CD player to wireless internet connection which was free of charge.

The room I was given was beautiful, spacious and extremely clean.

The hotel is well maintained and the rooms are very clean.
