We went sight-seeing on our own and found the location absolutely superb..

The decor in the room was uneven which did not give an "up-market" feel. There is no air-conditioning, and our room overlooked an active square. We loved hearing the activity, but others might be bothered by the noise.

    • Group of friends

The staff are friendly, the rooms clean and pleasant - well situated for shopping and spa.

The water was only just warm enough to bath and shower.

While the hotel was in a great location in the centre of Bath the rooms were on the small side and very basis. Randomly there was a gap between the draw and top of the dressing table.

The hotel was noisy, to the point that we could here the person above us having a shower. The doors to the rooms required slamming in order to shut. This meant that you could hear when some one on the floor above or below was leaving/entering their room.

Reception Staff were as helpful as possible and the hotel was close to the centre.

The hotel was dir4ectly next door to a noisy club that kept us up with the noisy music that we could hear in our room. After the music stopped, when they closed everyone from the club gathered outside and that was still just as noisy. If we knew about the club we would not have booked the hotel. Completely ruined our time!

      city centre-good location..

soooo much humming noises from bathroom extractors(from other rooms) which disturbed sleep!

The location was excellent and the showers were lush.

The internet service provided to the rooms did not work - either through wireless or wired connection - and staff were not overly helpful to try and get it to work.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, the breakfast was perfectly OK, the hotel is very conveniently situated, and it did still have a room available on a Bank Holiday weekend when practically every other hotel in Bath was full.

For the price, the hotel was rather anonymous and lacking in character, the room was small, and it only had a standard double bed

Great location, period building, big bathroom

Pervasive damp smell, awful creaky floorboards in room above, blocked sink, broken shower mixer. We mentioned the above on checking out and were thanked for feedback but had to ask for the bill to be adjusted as they weren't going to offer_ disappointing

Staff were excellent. Location was excellent for exploring Bath. Breakfast was excellent. Slightly noisy outside hotel though.

Slight problem with noise which the hotel could do nothing about as it was out in the street

We really enjoyed our stay. The rooms were very clean and the staff was exceptionally courteous. Its location in Bath city center was ideal for getting the most out of a weekend break.

Good location and friendly staff. Breakfast well cooked. Dinner was also good with good standards of presentation. Pleasant lounge area and the rooms were of a good size.

Difficult to park outside to offload passengers and luggage. The rooms we had were at the top of the hotel and were very hot (in April!!!). If you had the window open it was very noisy.

Ideal position, near town centre, shops and visitor attractions

Parking was difficult, but to be fair, parking is difficult for anyone staying in Bath centre

      The location was fantastic.

The shower did not work in room 307.

The staff were excellent especially the Welsh guy who works on reception, (sorry I don't know his name) and Emma who also works on reception. They were especially helpful and when I returned to the hotel a second time, Emma even remembered my name!

The radiator leaked in my room and after I reported it I understandably had to be moved to a different room from 301. Also there are only two dim lamps in the room, so reading in bed was not really an option. I told Mr W who brought up a higher wattage bulb for the lamp by the bed so it went from 40 watt to 60 watt. The light improved slightly but still not enough. Room 301 needs another lamp. Also with the tea and coffee making facilities, there was no herbal tea. So if they put more herbal tea and decaff coffee as well as the other drinks, that would be a big improvement. The biscuits could be improved as well as using semi skimmed as well as full milk cartons. The hairdryer should be in a museum and a radio would be good.
