Hostel Monroe is awful! It's like a construction site. Renovation work is on process. Very noisy. Poor shared bathroom. The window is very huge and when you open it, anyone can enter your room through the big window. I saw two girls simply enter their rooms through their windows instead of using their keys through the door. It seems that it is very dangerous. Wifi is not covered in the entire hotel as they said. I have to take my notebook and go to a public area of another building to have wifi. It's so inconvenient. Moreover, there are flea on the bed. There is no air-conditioner in the room, which make me feel so hot and uncomfortable!

Very nice location and even it is the very City center you can relaxe about price They have the courd yard where you can rest after hard day of walking

Friendly atmosphere, round-the-clock reception who speak english and able to assist you in your sighteeing tours, low prices and very-very- very good location.!!!

Price very good for central Moscow.

Entrance to the hostel was through a back door, meaning that a guard had to be summoned to let you in and out. This was very inconvenient if you just wanted to pop in and pick something up from your room! The guard was very sullen as were some of the other staff. There was only a see through curtain on the window of the room meaning little privacy from the men sitting outside in the courtyard. The showers had no space for changing or putting clothes meaning that it was impossible to change in the bathrooms. For single females this was far less than ideal.

This place is awful - in a dreadful condition and totally disrespectful of reservations. Despite my calling to confirm several days before, I was told they had given away my bed in a 4-person room, and I was given a bed in an 8-person room. The woman behind the counter was unhelpful and unfriendly. Despite the good location and cheap price, the hassle of staying here doesn't make it worth it.

The hostel is centrally located, has warm water, and although most of the staff does not speak English very well (except Olga and the administrator) the atmosphere is hospitable. The price/quality value is very good for Moscow.

At the moment the hostel is undergoing renovation but remains open at the same time.

I stayed in the rennovated part of the hostel in a freshly painted room with brand new beds and matresses and linen which felt really good! The building might look a bit shabby on the outside but it is all very new and modern on the inside.

Horrible nights !!! People are nice but if you want to make fiesta... Couldn't sleep the two nights ! Good for meeting people and drink vodka. But not for getting some rests and be shape for days of visits...

The lady in desk speaks good English.The location of hotel is very good, easy to reach all sights, which means saving times for us.The Bubushica is also very nice.

It's a place where you can stay to take a rest or talk to someone and it's near the metro which takes you everywhere. The staffs are good people and really helpful. You can trust them all! So, have fun there and enjoy Moscow.

Clean, spacious, well-furnitured, friendly staff who organize some hanging-out. It's shame that I stayed for only two nights.

Quite liked the hotel actually. With it's perfect location within walking distance from all the major Moscow attractions (well, many of them anyway!), with its affable staff fluent in English, with its roomy and light dorms it seems to be a nice place to stay while in Moscow. Not to mention the price! You are likely to spend more on your food compared to what you pay for a bed in this hostel.

Old fashion place, clean with simple furniture and wi-fi + tv + cheap laundry service, nice kind staff, situated only 5min walk from Kremlin . Staff very social and helpful, talk good English.. =)
