The hotel staff spoke very little English, and understood even less. When asking about the shopping plaza they sent us to an enclosed mall when we asked for the open air plaza. The breakfast buffet on Saturday was less than expected. We paid for 2 nights in advance and were so disappointed we left after the fitst night.

Just had a terrible time and were interrupted all night long. It's hard enough to enjoy a getaway and meet someone but this place really made it difficult! Check in went fine, but almost as soon as we hit the sack, someone was banging on our door. The sheets had an odd smell, and my companion kept telling the manager something in spanish about the party that was going on next door, but nothing ever happened to change that. I think we experienced a total of 5 people either knocking on the door or actually trying to enter the room. We left at dawn and will never go back.

The rooms are nice but that's it. I stayed here during a business trip and was working second shift. Upon arriving after work at 2AM, my room was 85 degrees. This hotel has central air conditioning and they turn it off at night. It was early November and still quite warm. Not knowing this and thinking it was a problem with my room, I called the front desk. They sent a kid with a ladder to my room and he crawled around in the ceiling for 30 minutes to no avail. I called the night manager and requested to move to a room where the A/C did work. They moved me to a room just as hot. That's when I found out they turn the whole system off at night. They refused to turn it on because they said I was the only one complaining. I went to the restaurant around noon to eat lunch. The food from the breakfast buffet was still out. I seated myself and waited. And waited. Even tho there were servers and staff running around, no one even acknowledged I was there. After 10 minutes without service, I left and drove to the mall for lunch. I will not stay here again.

When this property first opened, it was an excellent place to stay for business - great staff, super upkeep, good food. Over the past two stays, however, it seems as if things are beginning to slide: less than adequate servers in the hotel restaurant, elevators which were not working properly and on occassion trapped the occupant for a period of time, poor quality and quantity of breakfast buffet items. While still an adequate place to stay while in Cd. Juarez, the Camino Real is now more average than outstanding.

Stayed at the Camino the weekend of Oct 13th-15th. The color of the outside of the hotel was a little different (Purple/Pink and yellow. I mention this because you can't miss it from the road. But getting directly to the hotel is difficult. No direct turn. Once inside everything is quite good. Check-in was a breeze even though I don't speak any Spanish. The room was fine, standup shower and nice comfortable bed. Free Wi-fi and 3 HBO channels for entertainment. The breakfast buffet was really very good but quite Mexican. All in all I thought the hotel for the price was a great bargain
