The staff is outright hostile. The rooms are dirty, or unfinished. The carpet in your room is sticky. The staff (fron desk and management) will do all it can to squeeze every dime out of you. For instance, in your room you'll find bottled water and liquor clearly marked as costing more. But your little coffee pot with complimentary coffee sits there innocently - until WAIT! You drink it and you're billed for that crummy coffee you didn't even want. Unheard of yet when a refund is requested (several guests also asked) the frontdesk staff is alternately rude or suddenly unable to understand you. It's a small rip-off that nevertheless reflects the whole tone of the place. AVOID AVOID AVOID,

Sono stato al Camino Real Guadalajara due volte nel 2006 (marzo e giugno) e in entrambi i casi sono stato bene. Il personale era costantemente molto premuroso, specialmente il concierge che ci ha aiutato ad organizzare un tour di Guadalajara e Tequila siccome quello che avevamo prenotato era stato disdetto all’ultimo minuto. Se viaggiate per affari l’albergo si trova vicino al centro congressi e ha tutte le dotazioni che vi aspettereste da un business hotel. L’accesso a internet è disponibile nel business centre dell’albergo e costa 15 pesos per 10 minuti. La colazione è buona sebbene le sedie e la moquette del ristorante “La Huerta” necessitino di essere sostituite: sono macchiate e si vede chiaramente che sono logore. Le camere sono molto belle. È spazioso e pulito, le docce sono in marmo e quasi tutte le camere hanno un bel patio dal quale si accede al giardino dell’albergo. A dire il vero, quando mi trovavo lì a marzo, solo una delle quattro piscine dell’albergo era riscaldata e nell’acqua c’erano un sacco di foglie (lì accanto c’è un albero enorme e molto vecchio). Ho reclamato in un questionario e durante la mia visita successiva ho notato che tutte le piscine erano riscaldate e venivano pulite la mattina con regolarità. Il Camino Real si trova in città e potete arrivare praticamente dappertutto in taxi, anche se il tragitto da e per l'aeroporto è più lungo dato che, per arrivarci, dovete attraversare tutta la città. Tlaquepaque, Tonala, il centro storico e il centro commerciale Centro Magno sono tutti facilmente raggiungibili in taxi. Quest’albergo era il primo della catena alberghiera messicana Hoteles Camino Real; è stato costruito nel 1959 e un libro in camera che descriveva la storia di quest’albergo diceva che è stato ampliato all’inizio degli anni ’90. Credo che la maggior parte delle camere risalgano a quel tempo. Senza dubbio tornerò al Camino Real la prossima volta che vengo a Guadalajara.

Spent four nights at this hotel due to its close proximity to the company I was visiting. As other reviews state, this hotel location is not for tourists as it is far away from the historic center. Nonetheless, check in was quick and I have to agree with another review that states that the rooms look like 70's mexican decor. The A/C did not cool enough for my taste and the toilet seat was loose. The food and hotel service was excellent. I have to say that they do know how to cook here. Breakfast was also excellent and much better than some US hotels I have stayed at. In all, good business hotel with a few issues. I would try a couple of more hotels before I come back.

Ich habe 2006 zwei Mal (März und Juni) im Camino Real Guadalajara gewohnt, und beide Aufenthalte waren angenehm. Die Angestellten waren immerzu hilfsbereit, insbesondere der Portier, der uns half, eine Tour nach Guadalajara und Tequila zu organisieren, nachdem die eigentliche Tour unerwartet abgesagt worden war. Wenn Sie auf Geschäftsreise sind, liegt das Hotel sehr nah beim Konferenzzentrum und bietet alle Ausstattungen, die man von einem Businesshotel erwarten kann. Internetzugang erhält man im Businesscenter des Hotels für 1Euro/10 Minuten. Das Frühstück ist gut, obwohl die Sitze und Teppiche im „La Huerta“ Restaurant ersetzt werden müssten; Flecken und Abnutzungserscheinungen sind offensichtlich. Die Zimmer sind sehr schön. Geräumig und sauber, marmorierte Duschen und fast alle Zimmer haben eine Terrasse, von der aus man den Hotelgarten/die Anlagen betreten kann. Von den 4 Pools des Hotels war nur einer während meines Aufenthaltes im März richtig beheizt, und im Wasser waren viele Blätter (ein riesiger, alter Baum steht daneben). Ich habe mich darüber in einem Fragebogen beschwert und bei meinem nächsten Besuch waren alle Pools morgens regelmäßig beheizt und gesäubert. Das Hotel liegt in der Stadt und die meisten Gegenden können schnell mit dem Taxi erreicht werden, auch wenn die Fahrt zum Flughafen und zurück länger dauert, da der Flughafen am anderen Ende der Stadt liegt. Tlaquepaque, Tonala, das historische Stadtzentrum und das Centro Magno Einkaufszentrum können leicht mit dem Taxi erreicht werden. Das Hotel war das Erste der mexikanischen Hotelkette Camino Real, gebaut im Jahre 1959, und in meinem Zimmer lag ein Buch über das Hotel, in dem stand, dass das Grundstück in den frühen 90ern erweitert wurde. Ich glaube die meisten Zimmer stammen aus dieser Zeit. Ich werde sicherlich bei meiner nächsten Reise nach Guadalajara zu diesem Hotel zurückkehren.
