Simply the best in Chiang Mai

We are ‘old hands’ at visiting Chiang Mai, and have been travelling there regularly for many years. I can honestly say that the D2 is the best hotel we have ever found in the city. In terms of service, it’s even one of the best we’ve encountered anywhere! Yes, you can stay at the big name resorts outside town but despite their grandeur and rural appeal you won’t find an atmosphere to match the D2’s, nor will you have anything like the convenience (it’s so central that you can virtually reach out and touch the Night Bazaar). The D2’s appeal is partly due to its urban chic style, but what sets it apart is the service. The teamwork and sense of commitment shines through in a way it rarely does in even the most expensive five-stars, and yet the average age of the front-line staff can’t be more than 25! It’s a true credit to the philosophy that’s behind the training and to all involved in the process. In short, I have just two words of advice if you’re planning a trip to Chiang Mai – stay here! Oh, and don’t forget to eat at least one lunch or dinner in the restaurant. It may sound unadventurous but you won’t regret it - the food at Moxie is of international standards.

I have to concur with the other reviews. This really is a very classy hotel with a wonderful ambiance (although the orange decor can be a little overpowering after a while) and the staff could not have been any more helpful. It is centrally located which gets a lot of points from me; many interesting things to do and see and within easy walking distance. I spent a relaxing long weekend here and enjoyed wandering around the night bazaar that is very close by. If you have time do try one of the tours up to the Golden Triangle, you will come across some quite wonderful scenery during the journey. I would not hesitate recommending the D2 to any other travelers.

This newly built hotel in the heart of downtown Chiang Mai, a mere block from the Night Bazaar is a great find. Modern, sleek - INCREDIBLY attentive staff. The room were well appointed size. There is a plastic box on the desk where the hotel puts in new treats everyday from cookies to herbal massage infusion ball; there is also room tea service filled with assorted tea, hot water pot. Very thought touches. Highly recommend this hotel and the rates were very reasonable even in the high season. We would definitely stay here again.
