Just returned from a four night stay in this hotel. Was very impressed with the hotel, the room was very spacious and clean. The staff were very nice and the breakfast buffet was awesome, we also had an evening meal as well and the staff waiting on the table were great.
As previous reviews have said the location is really good, we got a taxi from the airport and was in the hotel within 20 mins, its in the new part of the town but only 10 mins walk into the old town and only 5 mins from Mirabelplatz where we booked all our trips from the Paramount tours kiosk. The paramount trips are very good but are a bit rushed.
Following a tip from another review we went to the hotel Stein and went to the terrace on the 7th floor, it has brilliant views of the old town and of the river Salzach.
There is a Spar shop just up the road from the hotel on the way to Linzergasse, and this shop sells bottles of water for 49c where it will cost 2 euros in other shops.
This is a great hotel and would recommend it and we would have no worries about staying there again.

Booked on line as a last minute decision... we were very disappointed. The top floor has not been renovated at all and as such, didn’t not meet the star rating expected. This was not the only problem. The rooms were not only dated but falling apart. We moved twice, firstly as the beds did not look like they had been changed from the previous guest and secondly because the curtain was broken and falling of the wall. We were moved down a floor to the only available room unfortunately is was a smoking room.
However, the staff were apologetic and seemed embarrassed. They did the best with a bad situation but you could not pay me to stay there again!

Salzburg was my favourite place in Europe and the NH Hotel was almost as lovely as the scenery! We were travelling with a 1 year old around Europe so we were very picky and this hotel was fabulous. Minor mixup on checkin as we booked a superior room not standard but this was sorted out and door lock was a bit fiddly but this was resolved fairly quickly. Once in our room it was spacious, clean, fresh, modern decor and most comfy beds in whole of Europe!
Their breakfast was awesome don't hesitate to get it there as the variety is huge plus the most delicious range of teas. They even had a highchair for our daughter and her own plate, bowl and spoon. They loved babies there even though they said they didn't get many staying there. Staff were friendly and helpful and spoke English. Just a lovely walk to the old town and all attractions. Christmas markets are a must and the deep fried jam sandwiches..don't knock them till you try one with a hot cup of wine or chocolate yummy!!!
Don't hesitate to book it as it really is a lovely place to stay. Only down side is the smoking. Like most of Europe at this time you are allowed to smoke inside however not at breakfast and some restaurants have no smoking areas. Apart from that great place!

my friend booked this hotel as part of a packaged trip and clearly stated it was her dads birthday. On entering the room they had provided complimentry bottle of wine with chapagne glasses, complimentry chocolates, a large bottle of chilled water, a bathroom bag with a brush, toothbrush, loafer, nail file, soap, hair tie and all shampoos etc plus free dressing gowns and slippers (reception states u can pay extra for these on your booking). The rooms were very big with a plasma TV, two very high and SO COMFORTABLE beds, a stylish red double sofa, long dresser, mini bar, and large immaculate bathroom.
We booked 3 rooms which were all the same in size and layout. The hotel location was only 5 minute walk to the main shops and main bus stops although there is a street of shops only seconds away. You are really near the river than runs through salzburg and can see the snow topped moutains from there.
To get to the moutains its only a bus ride away (Bus 25) and then you climb 6000ft (into germany!!).
A RESTRAUNT NOT TO BE MISSED: Coco Lezzone. It's a pizzeria along the river and we went there every night! The only reason we didnt eat there the Sunday was because she was closed! Lovely lady that serves you and absolutly brilliant food. She had reserved the table for us when she heard we were going to try and come back the day we go home!! visit www.cocolezzone.at for directions. youve gotta try it!!
Well worth visiting.
