I've stayed here on average 10 nights in 2005, 20 nights in 2006 and about 25 in 2007, all purely for business.
What can I say:
Great central location, you can walk anywhere from here around the city centre, can't be beaten for that.
Bed is seriously comfortable and air con always handy. I personally always tried to get one of the modern rooms at the back of the hotel, all with very large shower rooms. (Tip the older rooms at the front are a nightmare, once I had one and I didn't get any sleep due to noise outside front of hotel, light from street lights and traffic, added to that those rooms at the front don't have air con)
The toiletries are aways generally good with decent towels. The wardrobes are a bit small but overall I enoyed staying here and take it from me I've stayed at all the key hotels in Norwich.
Breakfast is generally ok, I wouldn't rave about it but its ok, they cook the hot breakfasts to order which is good.
I haven't stayed for about 6 months but the Restaurant food is actually pretty good normally, the only thing it lacks is ambience as few customers dine in due to the amount of choice of restaurants within a 5 min walk.
Overall staff good, bed great and very good handy location. I've stayed also at the Holiday Inn City centre Carrow Road and I'd personally prefer the St Giles as you don't need to keep getting taxis to take you into the city centre.
For additional info the DeVere Dunstun Hall is a ?11 taxi fare each way from hotel to city centre but is in a nice countryside location..

Booked our one night stay at St Giles on the day via Laterooms.com. Hotel is nice although there is a bit of wear and tear in places and our room (14) had some quite random furniture. The bathroom was nice even though it didn't have a bath, just a shower, but shower was a lovely rainforest shower so was great.
Breakfast was amazing! Had the full fry-up and it was delicious.
The best things about the hotel are the staff and the location though. V central.
Would recommend without hesitation although wouldn't necessary pay the rates on the hotel website!

This was a really lovely hotel, with a great location. The purpose of the trip was to go on a shopping trip with my boyfriend. This hotel is in easy reach of shops and nice restaurants. I did feel the hotel was a little over priced but generally found all the staff, particularly the great bar staff, really made a nice stay. The hotel does have a conveinent car park, which does have slightly convoluted, difficult street to get to, once there, the hotel charged only fivepounds for the 36hrs we needed it. The bedroom was lovely with a really nice bathroom and the overall feel of the hotel was really classy, in a art-deco kind of theme, it worked really well.
I'd recomend to anyone!

Stayed for just the one night. Very friendly person when telephoned who offered a very good rate so initial impressions were very high. Also found that car parking was complimentary (unusual but very welcome) and with no apparent time restrictions. The impressions slipped when we arrived - I presume that alot of guests arrive by car which means parking at the rear of the hotel. This is a very 'tradesman' like entrance and doors and corridors are scuffed and knocked. One small cupboard was selotaped shut!. The hotel itself is very boutique-like and a mish-mash of styles and colours. Our room was large enough and had a large ensuite shower/bath, but the finish and feel was not that wonderful - one of the taps fell off the bath, closely followed by the tap in the shower. The dresser was covered in mug 'rings' on the surface. The carpet had a stain in the centre and a large sofa in the hallway outside the room also had a stain. On the positive side, the staff are all very friendly, the bed was very comfortable, and the room was pretty well insulated. The hotels best bit was its central location. It probably comes down to what you like when you stay away - if its an individual boutique hotel then this will suit.
