We stayed for 2 days at the begining of our holiday and 1 day at the end. Sadly on our first stay we had a room on the ground floor It had a folding bed that could be pushed up into the wall which was very uncomfortable, we didn't complain until we left as we couldn't be bothered to move for 1 night. They did say if we had of complained we would of been moved so our own fault I guess. On our second stay we had a very large beautiful room on the first floor....make sure you don't stay on ground floor!!! Food delicious swimming pool great would stay again.

This hotel advertises itself as 4 stars, probably because of the amenities - grounds, pool, restaurant, front desk. It is probably one of the nicest (and most expensive) hotels in Inverness. But we would not consider it 4 stars. Our room was very large, but furnishings in room and common areas was "shabby" - ok for a country inn, but not what we expected for this price. (But everthing in UK is expensive.) Staff was very helpful, and place was clean, so no big complaints. It is a fairly long walk to downtown, especially when cold and rainy.

We stayed for 3 days in June in a deluxe room. There was no view to speak of, but the room was very large as was the bathroom with a separate shower and tub. The staff were all incredibly pleasant and helpful. Mr. Bill Sloan, an older, but full of life, part-time emloyee of Kingsmills, gives outstanding private tours of the Highlands.

Stayed here for a weekend break. We had a garden room which was spacious and had patio doors opening onto the garden area- very handy as the weather was great. Super sized bathroom which had a separate shower cubicle which was nice. We arrived fairly late on the Friday night so decided just to eat in the lounge. Our meals were very good although the service wasn''t particularly quick especially as they weren't very busy. Breakfast was very nice with a good array of foods to choose from, although it would have been nice if the porridge pot had been labelled as I overlooked it and only discovered it on the last morning. Unfortunately as were were only here for a short time we didn't have time to sample the leisure club. Overall this was a very good quality hotel only about 10 minutes from the centre of Inverness. The staff were all extremely friendly, polite and helpful. I would certainly return here for another short break.

Have stayed regularly at Kingsmills approx 4/5 times per year. It was fine when run by Marriott but new owner has improved standard and the redecoration which has started is very good. The standard of food & choice has improved considerably as on last visit had Fillet Steak which was every bit as good as I can get from my local (Scottish) Butcher! Staff all seem to be enthusiastic with a mixture of Nationalities though majority are local. Only gripe is room temperature which I find to hot though a Fan is provided. There appears to be a set types of guest with 'Suits' during the week & Families at the weekend.
