We had booked a two night stay at a four star? hotel in nearby Parnell. However on arrival were not impressed by the outdated and tired appearance of the rooms. This meant we had to find alternative accommodation in a hurry. We decided to try the Quest Apartments in Newmarket. When we opened the door to the one bedroom apartment we knew we had made a good choice. The living room was clean and furnished to a high standard. The bedroom was small but nicely presented with good linen and drapes. The bathroom contained a washer and dryer and the kitchen was well appointed and included a dishwasher. Overall we were impressed and would stay here again. The link bus into the city stops around the corner and plenty of good restraunts nearby. Also within walking distance of the museum.

This place was immaculate! A wonderful place to stay, beautifully kept and presented. Would recommend this to anyone! Nice quiet apartments. Close to shops and would recommend eating at Rika.

Quest is a chain of Serviced apartments - they are all over the place - this one is in Newmarket just off the main street (broadway) at the city end. It is located behind a large complex of cinemas which are ontop a large swimming complex. The location is good, walking distance to plenty of great resturants and shops - and being the city end very close to areas like Parnell and the CBD. If you want to be in newmarket then this is a good choice location wise and gives easy access to surrounding suburbs and motorways.
The apartments are modern as the building is very new and are apointed to a good standard. The studio i was in has everything one would need for a stay including - own aircon, small kitchen and washer and dryer. The studio had the worlds smallest deck - literall 1 tile width but no matter as the views are of carparks and other office buildings
The biggest downside to this place is its actual location - it is right next to a main railway line and near a point where cars cross that line. As such every train that passes is extemely noisy and activates warning bells at the barrier arms - these all start at 5.30 am and go on till late - at peak time expect a train every 10mins or so. If your into trains then this could be heaven - if your into sleeping in then maybe not.
The hotel has no resturant etc which is no big deal - and parking is not free and you need to book it - approx 15 per day.
Service is fine - but being a serviced apt block is one person behind a desk during work hours and a phone for after that.
All in all could be excellent but runied by the trains.
PS Trip advisor currently lists this as Waiheke Island - its definately not - or anywhere close ( you have to take a boat to waiheke for a start) - check out a map before booking if unsure.
