The hotel is in Neustadt, a little bit of a hike to the main attractions of Dresden (or about a 7 euro cab ride). The rooms are minimalist, but are clean and the beds are comfortable. Breakfast is decent, but offers the same items daily. The staff were friendly and helpful. Mark proclaims their properties to be "first class 3-star hotels." I have no complaints, but the Alpha is a 3-star at best.

We spent three nights at the Mark Hotel Alpha in Dresden. It was easy to find from the autobahn. At first we thought the neighborhood seemed a bit sketchy but, we never had any problems at all. We walked to the Altstadt (about half an hour) from there with no problems.
The hotel is really quite modest, the furnishings are plain but, our room was spacious. I slept well but woke with horrible back pain each morning. My husband had no problem with the bed. The shower temp was hard to regulate, went from warm to cold to hot quite a bit. Would have liked a mini-fridge but, oh well.
Breakfast in the morning was pretty good. Kept us going.
Front desk staff were friendly and helpful.
