The good & the not so good:
Good
Located right next to the main square
Very spacious accomodation
Very clean
Comfortable bed
Powerful shower
Not So Good
None of the water coolers on any of the floors of the hotel were working
The double bed was 2 twin beds pushed together
The staff were not particulary friendly
The hotel is quite a long walk from the train station if you have a heavy bag
Overall, Haarlem is definately worth a visit & I probably would stay here again. Try cafe fortuyn on the main square for delicious appletart & coffee.

We booked a superior room in this hotel, but I felt like it was only comparable with a standard room elsewhere, apart from the addition of 2 bathrobes. Therefore I wouldn't recommend paying full price for this hotel. The furnishing and décor are all very new and modern with an open central atrium type arrangement of the rooms. Hotel felt very quiet and business oriented to us so we didn't use attached bar.
Didn't take the breakfast either which at 18 euros is too extortionate for non-business travellers such as ourselves. Ate in a beautiful brown cafe called I think Carillion on main square nearby for 8 euros. Location is very central and not really to dificult to find on foot armed with Google Earth.

This hotel is brand new in the pedestrian area of Haarlem. If you have a car it can be hard to find but it is walking distance from the railway station. Haarlem is only 20 minutes away from Amsterdam by train and the hotels are cheaper so it makes it a good alternative. After visiting Amsterdam we were happy to go back to Haarlem which offers a similar feel without all the traffic. We got a good deal on the hotel's website and made a last minute reservation. My only problem with the hotel is that the pillows are too hard but you can request softer ones at the reception, something I wish I had known ahead of time. There is a computer and a printer in the lobby and the internet connection is free of charge which is certainly a plus. There are safes in the rooms and water dispensers on every floor. We didn't try the breakfast there because of the cost, $18 per person. Overall we were very happy with our stay.

It really was very difficult to fault this new hotel. Excellent location just off the main square and very comfortable rooms. Free internet access and a computer with printer in reception for guests' use. Good air-conditioning in the room and just about every conceivable extra in the bathroom (including toothbrush and toothpaste). Lots of water dispensers. Efficient and courteous staff. Good breakfast. Arrived by train, so didn't need the parking, but there is a car park under the hotel. Highly recommended.
