Just arrived back from the Oasis, if you require a remote but not a quite apartment then this is the place. The apartment was lovely and clean, even had a dishwasher in it! The only drawback was the location and the noise, there seemed to be some work going on in the apartments and the drill and hammer was getting used each day. When we arrived we checked in, all we was given was the key to the room and no further information about the place or the surrounding area. It is a good 10 minute walk to the metro station, then a 20 minute journey to Sol in Madrid. The metro did run till 2 in the morning on the Saturday night. The taxis are a bit expensive a 15 minute journey to the airport cost 35 euros. We did find a nice little cafe bar near to the apartment called Charlies, the food there was nice and reasonably priced, its on the right hand side as you walk up to the metro station. If I was to go to Madrid again I would definitely stay in the centre.

visited oasis albufera at the end of may 08.Read all the reports on trip advisor and was ready for the pit falls! all the reviews were spot on.The taxi driver didnt know where it was so take directions or at least complete adress.Apartment was immaculate and very modern,the breakfast was adequate and not crowded when we were there but having 6 buildings of 5levels i could well understan that it could be chaotic! To travel to the centre of madrid took about 20 mins on the tube and thats after a 10 min walk to the tube station,but it honestly wasnt a problem.every trip on the tube costs 1 euro from where you get on to anywhere in madrid you get off , then the same to any where else you go after that,and its very regular and clean and not crowded an excellent way to travel about and cheap.The free airport shuttle bus leaves the hotel on the hour and drops you at terminal 2 at the same point as the madrid free airport shuttle stops to transfer you to terminal 1,3or 4 so i woul imagine the hotel free shuttle would be at the airport on the half hour.Hope this is help to someone.
