We were a party of five adults, occupying three rooms. We had long standing reservations, recently confirmed. On arrival, our booked rooms were not available. We had to settle for what they had. The desk clerks could not have been more rude and indifferent. This was their attitude throughout our four night stay. Other employees, in the dining room and the lounge, were similarly indifferent. This is NOT a hotel you want to use on a vacation!

Hotel was great. Location could not have been better, right on the Danube. Breakfast buffet was wonderful. Staff was very helpful. Good value for the price.

Have just got back from a fab 3 days in Budapest. Have to say that for the price I found the hotel fantastic value for money. The location is good - opposite a tram stop which takes you to Moskva Ter, trams running every 5 mins or so. Found the staff helpful and friendly despite the fact I witnessed them having to deal with some tricky customers. The rooms are also fine. Beds were comfy and air conditioning worked well. Rooms were clean and comfortable and cleaned daily. View from the hotel is good - and had a fab terrace where we ate breakfast every morning. The breakfast has a lot of choice, and is not your typical english fry up if thats what you are looking for - but its the typical European breakfast and is one of the best breakfasts in terms of choice, quality and freshness I have had in Europe. Its not 5 star quality but have to say you get more than what you pay for here. If what you are looking for is a comfortable clean base, in a good location to be able to explore this fantastic city I really think its a good choice.
The lifts are the only issue I had - seemed to miss out my floor every time but did not ruin the whole experience!!

We booked through Thomas Cook and got a great deal. It was our first time here, we were on the 14th Floor and what a view - stunning. The staff were very friendly. The Restaurant and the Cafe Bar served good food at a good price. The drinks especially the wine was reasonable priced. The Hotel Shop is also well priced and ofers some great souvenirs. Also they sell tickets for trams and shows and trips which is great if you rn out of change. Its about a 20 min walk to the centre but the trams stop opposite the hotel if you don't fancy the walk. Next door to the Hotel is a restaurant which is great fun and does good food with local dancing and music. We had a great time in Budapest and would recommend this hotel definately. There is only 2 lifts which is the usual complaint but we didn't find it a problem after all you are on holiday. The breakfasts are fabulous and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay - enjoy !!!

Cell Block H!

Stayed here for 2 nights on a Cosmos tour of Central Europe. I agree with the others re the great views from the hotel rooms but the circular shape of the hotel means that internally you feel as if you're in Cell Block H! The hotel itself is in need of refurbishment - the door handle and panel of my door were loose and the carpets, bedcovers and bath needed cleaned and replaced. The pillows are those silly bolsters with hardly any stuffing in them. The food was okay and it was very pleasant to sit outside for breakfast and in the late evening. Breakfast wasn't as chaotic as in some hotels we stayed in but the hot food was not really compatible with British tastes. Actually I don't know which nationalities like stir-fried vegetables, kidney beans and spinach pasta first thing in the morning - other than Hungarians presumably! The staff behaved quite indifferently but we found that in Budapest generally so not just specific to this hotel. The lifts are a nightmare - only 2 for 16 floors. I would worry about safety if a fire broke out in the upper floors as the stairs are only suitable for the reasonably able-bodied. I wouldn't stay here again.
