I found this hotel in August 2007 while searching for a last minute place to stay for Oktoberfest a month later at the end of September 2007. It's located in the east part of Munich near the Berg am Laim S-bahn stop (about a fifteen minute walk from the train station, but not a walk you'd want to do if you were carrying lots of lugage). The loal area is fairly rural but there was a cab line waiting most of the time.
It was described as a business hotel and that is a pretty accurate description. My Oktoberfest party and I stayed in the rooms there and they were clean and contained typical Euro-style single beds. I recall there being a bar which was always full of smoke and beer even at 8am but overall it was clean and the hotel staff was pleasant and accommodating.
The hotel itself is about a 25-minute ride on the S-bahn to get to the city center or Marienplatz. It worked fine as a last minute option but I plan on staying closer to the city center for Oktoberfest this year. Train service back to the nearest station was a little spotty after 11pm.

Stayed at this hotel due to a flight cancellation. Took us nearly 45 mins by taxi from the airport as even the taxi driver was not sure where it was. As we were late arriving there was no menu in the restaurant only pizza available! After around an hours wait it finally arrived and was totally inedible. The reception staff were very stern and the restaurant staff were awful. The rooms were OK.

L’hotel in sé è molto carino.
Very nice but a bit of a distance to city center.

The hotel it self was very nice. It had a big sparkling clean bathroom and ample space. It was nicely decorated with a modern feel and had a stylish restaurant/ bar downstairs. I have absolutely no complaints about any of the amenities, services or staff. We had a tv, with CNN and American movies on-demand, which came in handy while we got used to the time change and were wide awake at 3am. the staff was pleasent and there was a fridge full of drinks ($) and free apples at the reception desk every day. The only issue I had was the distance, located near Zamdorf and getting into Munich center. Looking back on it, I should have realized the hotel is probably intended for business people, not the average tourist. The first problem we had was that Expedia did not know how to get to the hotel and we struggled to find it on our own (not the hotel's fault, and it is no longer listed on Expedia's site). There was a bus stop directly in front of the hotel but it didn't run all the time, so often we ended up walking quite a distance to the next bus stop, or would have to wait 20min for the next one. We'd take the bus to the nearest U station, Prinzregentenplatz and take that into the city. After a day or two we just got sick of the extra traveling back and forth to the hotel, especially when we were traving all over Bavaria and to Austria during the day. I would reccomend this hotel to anyone who is using it for business or who needs to be in that area, but for tourists who want to be in the city and explore, I'd look for some where more centrally located.
