Way over priced for outdated sheets, beds, kitchen and overall facitlities. At the price we paid we could have stayed at a much nicer resort. I would not pay anymore than $75 USD per night to stay at Las Flores in the future as you can get ten times better for $120 per night at other locations.

We are RCI members, and had a "Master Suite." We were there a week (husband and I). We love Mazatlan and visit there 1-2 times per year for many years. Having said that, here is a review of our stay:
(1) Martin is a great doorman, and the singing Esther always cleaning the lobby was also wonderful. View to ocean is awesome too, and microwave, refrig & stove top were nice.
(2) Front desk staff are friendly but can't do much with issues
(3) Manager Esther Lopez seemed more caring, but there were issues. First of all, on check-in our room smelled horrible, like sewer gases. we traced the awful smell to the bathroom where there is a strange anteroom with pipes coming to the purified water spigot in hall (which we refused to drink from) and the A/C to our room. The pipes were dripping green moldy-looking liquid. Also, in the room the A/C blows straight onto the beds, but the black mold in the vents kept us from using the A/C till I called the maintenance department in the am. I spoke to them very forcefully in Spanish, and stood there while they removed the vents, apologized, and cleaned out the vents and pipes. The beds are very hard, but another trip to the front desk and forceful Spanish to request bed toppers, along with catching the maid as she came to clean our room, denying she knew anything about the request (the toppers help a lot). Also, we went to use the hot tub, only to find it filled with babies and toddlers without any diapers (although signs posted state that no one under 16 years is to use the hot tub). The security guards stood by allowing the babies in the hot tub. I complained every day for 4 days, every day being told the pool had been emptied and was ready to use. Finally on the fourth day, I found a manager Esther and asked her to come see the hot tub. It was so gross, smelled like a funky dirty locker room, was cloudy and disgusting. She agreed and stated that the guards would enforce the rules, but when the cruise ships came and locals came, everyone again went in hot tub, which had been emptied and refilled so water was cold. By end of day hot tub was again gross and unhealthy. After sleeping in hard bed and walking a lot, these old bones would have enjoyed a dip in the hot tub, but not in that petri dish of disgust.
(4) Finally on the last night, we were sound asleep when we were awakened at 1:00 am by a loud band concert right outside the room on the beach (mind you we were on the 8th floor with all doors and windows closed). There was a sousaphone, trombones, trumpets, drums, and cymbals playing a LOUD Mexican polka type music really poorly. We called downstairs several times, and finally at 2:00 am I asked how we could call the policia. They called them for me, and they came after another 15-20 minutes and dispersed the band and party. As soon as they left, the drummer played on till 3:30 am.
We love Mazatlan, and the location of Las Flores is perfect, but there are major issues with public health concerns that should not be occurring in this type of resort.

First, the good. Hotel staff was very friendly, and housekeeping kept everything spotless. The Studio room we had was very spacious.
Second, the bad. Hotel room was terribly dim, outdated, and you could not view the ocean on the verandah while seated.
Lastly, the ugly. The beds. If you can comfortably sleep in a tent on the ground, you can sleep on the beds. If not, do not stay at this hotel. We had reservations for 7 days, and had to move to another hotel after 4 nights because of the beds. You will not save any money. We ended up spending twice as much money as we planned on because we had to pay for a second hotel.
We ended up staying at the Lindamor Suites, just a few doors down from the Las Flores, in a 1 bedroom suite, which was very nice, clean, private, quiet, and had a nice soft sofa.

Well my sons and I returned yesterday from Las Flores booked through Signature travel so I thought it might be prudent to let you know about some of the issues we faced. First even though my reservation for a room stated that there would be a pull out couch there was none and inquiring did nothing. The beds themselves are built on cement pads, no box spring and were so hard it's difficult to imagine. The beach chairs were worn out and did not have any cushions so, like the beds were very uncomfortable. The elevators came and went at glacial speed so bring a book while you wait. The air conditioning did not work. at all...
There is no icemachine for guests on any floor, the bar will grudgingly give you some but as always....the hairy eyeball for a tip. Bugs in rooms, bring something to kill them. I don't think they are harmful but they came back every day despite my best efforts.
Realizing it was Spring break did not prepare me for the crowds. Makes Mardi gras in New Orleans seem desserted. The staff are great and we did have clean sheets daily and lots of towels but I think the hotel needs to revamp. I'll go back to Mazatlan but likely won't be staying in Las Flores
