I was worried about traveling to Mexico with three kids after everything I have read about the Oasis. The only negative thing I would say was check in. The lobby had to be 95 degrees and only two people were working behind the counter. We stood in line for over an hour and when it was our turn, they send us to the wrong room. After about another half hour, we upgraded our room and we finally got to unpack and start our vacation. The beach is beautiful. The water is very shallow. This was fine for us because our three children could swim all around the roped in area and we did not worry. The pool was gorgeous, but very warm. The water had to be in the high 90's. You definitely did not get cooled off. Again, the children had plenty of space and there were no worries. We only ate at the International buffets. There was plenty to choose from and the food was for the most part good. The service was great. My husband tipped very good. We left a few bucks everyday for the maid and she always left us enough towels and our room was very well kept. He also tipped the waiters and our drinks were always filled and they always took care of the kids. After dinner, the waiters always brought out fresh ice cream for the kids. "Adriano" was a great waiter. He worked really hard and always gave us great service. There are plenty of activities throughout the day and night to keep busy. We were at the beach and pool from 11 am til 6 pm everyday. Our one son attended Kids Club and he loved it. You can trust that the kids are well taken care of. This resort was only rated a three star, but it was worth every penny. Enjoy your trip. We can't wait to go back.

Stayed here for two weeks of June 2008. Had read many of the reviews and was a bit worried about where we were going. Sounded like a nightmare place! But we couldn't have had a better time. The hotel was clean, reasonably quiet during the night (considering we were there during Grad week), and the pool is great! The beach is perfect for non swimmers and kids, and the food was just fine! The staff were great! No problems whatsoever. Oh yes, and the beds are the best I've ever slept in, really comfy. So if you have booked this hotel, don't judge it by the negative reviews you may see on here, we loved it, and it was worth every penny!!!

So I just returned from Oasis Palm Beach and there are some problems. We booked an apple vacation, and they were very good about arriving and departing on time. No problems there. I have been to Cancun 5 times, and I must say, this hotel is nothing to look at in comparison to the other resorts we have stayed at. As I was checking in, my family went to check out the pool and the beach. My family liked the pool area, but told me the beach looked like our local lake. When people say it is shallow... wow is that an understatement. I am a short person, and it didn't come to my knees. The pool area is nice. I enjoyed all of the activites that the pool had to offer. I have to say the activity directors work hard, but were kind of cocky jerks. Lots of drinks at all times, however in comparision the the last place we stayed no where near the quality. The beer is NOT Corona, it is Estrella, which I thought was okay, but my husband hated! We met a really nice couple, that liked to party, and we had a great time with them, Neil is a trooper!!! The buffets are not really up to par at all. Lots of choices, but very few that look fresh. Homemade omelettes in the moring we good. I think my husband would have bolted from this hotel, but the sushi beach bar, kept him fairly happy. The specialty dinner locations were worth getting up by 7:00 a.m. to make a reservation for. My children lived on cheese fries. In the end, my family would end up walking about 2 miles each way, to go check out the Riu Caribe and snorkle and party there, just to get away from this resort. Me on the other hand, could deal with it. We are not very hard to please, but I guess this resort was a bit of a disappointment. Watch out for sea lice in the ocean, my husband is probably going to the doctor tomorrow, because he is eaten alive!!!! I have to say 4 out of the 5 of my family have Mexican stomach problems...I am fine and ready to go back for some cocoa-locoa's! I would NEVER get my family to return to this hotel... and as a matter of fact they never want to return to Mexico after this experience. Really, if you are going, spend $100.00 more per person and stay at a Riu property!! The best part for me was cocktail hour at 1;00 in the afternoon, where they show you how to make drinks. Almost every person you talked to at this resort had a complaint. I even saw a girl in the elevator crying her eyes out, because it was her honeymoon, and she was soooo disappointed!
