You must try the Avari Ladies Plan

What a fantastic treat!
The Avari Hotel has recently been renovated and the Ladies Plan (for single women travelling alone) is a fantastic idea!! From the friendly greeting with cool lemon and rose water ice tea, to the treats in your room, the silk robe and free overnight laundry one could not find a better experience for women travelling solo (or in a group for that matter!) The staff are courteous and the rooms are spacious and beautiful.
The restaurants are great as well. If you like sushi I would suggest that you try the Avari crispy california roll.
This was my second time back to the Avari Lahore and I can't wait to go back!

Great hotel

This is a great hotel. This is the second hotel I have stayed in whilst in Lahore. The other hotel (name I won't mention) looked like a good 4 star hotel when we arrived, but having been to look at the Avari because we knew other people that had stayed there, we decided to move hotels and stay at the Avari instead.
And it's worth the extra ?20(GBP) per night we're paying!
The rooms are spacious, very nicely decorated. There's a mini bar, a safe to protect your valuables (very important).
The hotel staff are friendly and very helpful, they can't do enough for you.
Security at the hotel is good: there is security on the main gates inspecting the cars as they enter. There's are metal detector scanners on entry to the hotel entrance and your luggage is even X rayed.
The hotel has a small gymnasium - but has a good variety of equipment and an outdoors swimming pool.
There are several places to eat in the hotel, and food is excellent quality - but more expensive than eating out in the city, but cheap by European standards.
The hotel boasts the only Japanese restaurant in Lahore, and the food is excellent.
Food in the hotel is freshly cooked and not just cooked and left to be kept warm by placing on small flame burners. This is an important point to consider if you want to avoid any illnesses being contracted.
And a point to consider is the air conditioning. In the Avari you can leave the air-con on whilst you are out of the room, so when you return the room is at the perfect temperature for you.
Pakistan is a hot country and whilst many hotels claim to have air conditioning, in our former hotel it turned off when we left the room, and took 2 hours to cool the room down to a reasonable temperature for us westerners to survive in. This made sleeping difficult. In the Avari this is not a problem.
The only thing I can find wrong with the hotel is the frequency at which the staff come into the room to change the fruit bowel, to change the towels, to clean the room, to top up the items in the mini-bar. Had the towels changed one evening at 10pm!
I suppose it's time to use the "Do not disturb" label for the door.
Very Impressed

My husband and I checked in for two nights. We were very impressed by the hotel. The service was helpful and meals were fantastic. The one downside was that there were no accomodations for drivers.

I am surprised that on some webites it is advertised as wheelchair accessible. To enter there is a very steap ramp on the side of the veranda which inspite of having strong arms I could not do without the help of security guy. Toilets were not accessible. I actually had to leave the door open infront of everyone because my wheelchair could not get in. Staff didnt have a clue about access. (its not their fault, they need training) They have reserved parking space for disabled drivers at the front though. Hope they have improved since then. Would love to hear if they have.
