Finish the renos please!!

We were recently in Victoria for a baseball tournament and had the experience of staying at the Vacation Inn. They claim the hotel has just been renovated, are you kidding? Our bathroom had a junction box hanging out of the ceiling! Basically they have painted and installed crown molding and that's about it. The uncomfortable mattresses do not look like they have been replaced and if they have, then they are a $50 match set, the toilet has a crack in the porcelain and runs all night unless you take the lid off and fix it yourself! The shower head is like getting blasted with a high powered mister. A couple of other things to note: it would be nice if the room had a CLOCK RADIO, have you ever tried to set a microwave oven to wake you up with a DING! Oh and an elevator would also be a neat idea for this hotel as this would really help getting your luggage to the third floor.
On the positive side the staff were OK and polite, and the pool was a hit with the kids. This place charges $129-$149 in July which is very high for the quality you are getting, it's more like a $49-$69 room. For $50 more you can stay at the Royal Scot , that would be my next choice!

And YES, I would tell my friends about Vacation Inn. I will return to Vacation Inn any time that I get to Victoria. B.C. The rooms are big with alot of room.

My husband had work in Victoria this past April and May, 2007. On a couple of these trips I also tagged along. We found everything we needed at the Vacation Inn. Staff was freindly and helpful with local transit, what to do, and where and where not to go.
Rooms were very clean and spacious enough for 2. Nice little restaurant on the property as well. Serves up a great breakfast and has great dinner specials too. Ideal for the whole family.
I would recommend this hotel for budgeted families and the average working man. We would go back should my husband have work again on the island.
