We stayed here on a 3 week trip around British Columbia. This was definitely the worst place we stayed. The whole trip we tried to stay in budget friendly hotels/motels however if I returned I would splurge on anywhere else in Victoria. We were right on the ground floor by the front parking which wouldn't bother me if the window had a screen. However it was very stuffy and smelly in our room when we got there and we couldn't leave the window open because anyone going by could just hop in grab our stuff and hop out. It was a dark and musty room that felt dirty and cooped up because we couldn't let any air in. Also we had a room key that didn't work right and the following morning we got locked out in the hall. If I had to stay here again I would ask for a room above ground level at least. To add one positive comment it was walking distance to shops and restaurants.

We were very impressed with this hotel: only 15 mins walk into Victoria with excellent rooms and service. The rooms were large and well equipped and staff always willing to help. I would definitely recommend. Free parking. Free internet access in lobby and wireless in rooms.

Mi experiencia en el Traveler’s Inn Downtown fue mucho mejor de lo que esperaba. El personal, la recepción y todos los demás fueron corteses, cordiales y muy acogedores. Me sorprendió lo limpio que estaban y lo bien que fueron mantenidas las habitaciones durante mi estancia de tres días. La ubicación del hotel fue perfecta, estaba a corta distancia a pie de muchas de las atracciones. Me enamoré de Victoria y si alguna vez pudiese volver, no titubearía hospedarme nuevamente en este hotel.

We booked this Victoria hotel through Expedia based on the reviews showing " best value Victoria 6 years running etc" you will see it everywhere in their ads. We arrived at the ferry terminal and called the number posted at the terminal for the "free " shuttle and was told "why are you calling this number " finally, since no shuttle came, we took a taxi which the hotel paid for. The hotels location and appearance immediately made us want to leave. Our room at $140.00 per night with a "discount" on the first floor was cramped, moldy smelling and needed painting. We tried to air it out but the curtains were so ratty and frayed with no liner to allow light and air to come in that we left them closed. As my wife had unpacked moving seemed no option given our two day stay. It was not a room where you would want to spend much time. The first night a noisy drunken party went on in the room accross the way and in the hallway and no one from the motel intervened though the desk is just around the cornor. Finally my wife got up and had to confront the situation in the hallway. As a result she was upset and did not sleep the rest of the night. When she looked for the" free " hairdryer we found out you had to request it from the front desk. The next day we mentioned the late night party to the manager.She said she just didn't understand why nothing was done. That first day our room was cleaned but it looked like someone had occupied the bed afterward. The second night a dog started barking accross the hallway at 11:30pm, it went on till 1:30am with a bout of pounding on the door after our calls by a security person. Finally the dog was moved to the parking lot where he barked the rest of the night. The next day as we were checking out I asked about a refund and was told that we would get $40.00 but that actually we couldn't have it because we had booked through Expedia. After we had breakfast and stood waiting for our shuttle we were offered a free night, which was a safe bet since we were leaving. I again asked for the refund in cash but was told they couldn't do it. I asked to speak with her manager but was told he had the day off and was unavailable. As far as location, it is a walk through a largely deserted part of town after 5pm so you have the panhandlers and folks sleeping in doorways to get past. By the way the newpaper mentioned in their ads is a free handout which we could not find anywhere so you can imagine how they got their recomendation. This is really a funky, overpriced downtown motel with a coat of paint, cheap carpeting and discount furniture stuffed into their rooms preying on the tourists. The night before we flew back we stayed at the Best Western Rivers Edge near the Seattle Airport which was like night and day in comparasion for the same price. Spare me the comments from their non existent management.. Promenently displayed in front of our hotel was a sign stating help wanted. So true.

Me and my boyfriend stayed at the Travellers Inn Downtown in Victoria for 4 nights. It was one of the best places we have stayed at. The room was cleaned every morning; the staff was gracious and very courteous. The room was great as well. We had 2 huge King Size beds! The patio was nice as well and it had a nice view. The amount we paid for the room was very reasonablel. It was approx. 20 min walk from the hotel down to downtown Victoria. We are planning to go back to Victoria in the near future and if and when we do, we will for sure book our room there again! Thank you for making our stay great!
