I've stayed at W Hotels many times in various cities. This ranks as one of the best of the bunch in terms of comfort. I am a Platium member and I felt that we were treated extremely well, from check in to check out. The hotel manager coming out to welcome us was a nice touch. The hotel is a 15-20 minutes walk to the closest train station at Kabatas so be prepared to walk if you plan on taking public transportation. There are plenty of buses as well if you choose to take a bus to the train instead of walking. Of course, taxis are plentiful. There is a supermarket just down the block if you want to stock up on essentials - very convenient. The bed is very comfy and the room is ultra modern - consistent with the W brand. We were upgraded to a suite - about double the size of a standard room. The room was very spacious and included a sitting area. We stayed only one night and wished we had more time to enjoy the hotel. Overall, very pleasant stay and one of the best W hotels.

get ready for a charge of bathrobe
Guest name: WinnerIstanbul, İstanbul
We stayed at W Hotel-?stanbul for our wedding anniversary for just one night and had our dinner at the Spice Market restaurant. As can be easily guessed the total cost of all was arond 500 ?. The day after we checked out I realized that 150 YTL (~120 USD) has been charged from my credit card without asking me in advance. When I called the hotel, it's said to me that it's because of two bathrobes stolen from the room. As ethic people since we never do such things at the hotels, we were very upset and got angry about such an unresponsible and indicent attitude towards us. I really can not understand how dare the unexperienced front office staff have got the right that easily to directly charge anything to my credit card without asking any other collegues or boss of her/his, especially without asking me!!So,I and my wife were accused with theft. We wish they had asked for the very simple max 10 USD inferior bathrobes in the hotel among their personnel and asked to my agent secondly. Since I have already taken the chance to pay 500 ? for just one night, the front desk people could have kept in mind that those customers(us) wouldn't be such a thief people to be in need of such bathrobes or kind of staff from th hotel, and they could asked to others before us. Anyway, it's been two weeks and the amount has just been returned to my C.Card. Get ready to unexpected expenditures without any notice and a feeling of being accused by theft after paying 500 ? for one night accom. and dinner. There're so many more beautiful hotels in ?stanbul other that W Hotel. Try your best to choose any one of the other hotels first...

I admit up front that I got a special rate by virtue of working at the U.S. Consulate in Istanbul; however, this hotel is absolutely spectacular. My wife and I stayed at the W for one night, June 14th, the weekend before we moved away from Istanbul after living there for three years. The rooms are tremendously chic and modern, with rainforest showers, push-button lighting scheme selections, iPod docking stations, LCD televisions, and the same luxuries you would expect in any W hotel in the world like the amazingly comfortable bed. If you stay in this hotel, you must also dine at its Spice Market restaurant, part of an international chain of first-class restaurants of the same name. The dishes are the best fusion modalities of favorites from around the world. For example, my wife and I enjoyed the samosas with delicious coriander sauce (wiped the bowl clean), decent spring rolls, fillet of Jon Dory tempura fried with chili slices and basil-lime sauce, and beef tenderloin with cilantro pesto (correct, we love cilantro). Dessert was unremarkable, but try the Sarafin label wine--our favorite of the Turkish labels. We then retired and slept 10 hours in our luxurious bed. Also enjoyed the Bliss brand toiletries. Only negative experience was the door slamming by the hotel's cleaning staff. Thank you, Murat the sales manager!

I've stayed a couple of W hotels and I always get the same feeling--
that I am not nearly attractive or hip enough to be there.
The new W Istanbul is really cool; all mod and modern. The room is unusual with the sink and vanity behind folding doors, the WC in a separate room and the marble shower with big "rain" head next to it. A flat panel TV sits behind dark glass so its invisible when its off. The lights are preprogrammed for settings like "work" and "wonder" and throughout the hotel there are all kinds of little touches to delight (like the bolster pillow on the bed that says Welcome upon arrival or Goodnight when you come back to your room). And the bed, oh my it is comfortable.
The staff is incredible. Intelligent, accommodating and efficient and clearly chosen for their good looks as much as their skill.
So what's not love? Having to pay $12 for a lousy cup of coffee in the morning, or $25 for a drink at night, or $18 for a local call, of $9 for the bottle of water they leave in your room. Yeah, the W is cool, but that leave me cold.

We stayed at the W just after they opened. I have to say that the friendliness of the staff here is what really makes the hotel. From the moment you show up, they are on it. The rooms themselves are W cool, and the rainshowers are awesome. You have to enjoy the trendy hip scene to feel good in this hotel, because it is not for the tour groupers.
I really do recommend the hotel restaurant, it's good asian fusion food, but not turkish if that is what you are looking for. The only knock I have on the hotel is that they are a little away from the main tourist scene, but with easy access to taxis the trams are not far away.
