Modern?? Stylish?? Four-stars?????
Maybe my standards are a bit off but I found this place just aweful. I have never before seen wall to wall carpeting, litterally, there is carpet on the walls and on the floor and each of the floors are a different color. Then you enter the bedrooms. There are mirrors on the bathroom ceiling and in the entrance-way. I like mirrors, and there was definitely no shortage but I don't need one above the toilet or above the bathtub. It was kind of creepy to be shadowed by so many mirrors. Even though the desk, carpet, walls, tub, toilet, bidet, sink, curtains and chairs were a dreadful pink; the cleanliness needs to be worked on. I like to have rooms cleaned the way I live at home. The faucets were always dirty and there was grime around the taps. The good thing about this place was the spacious bathroom and bedroom and the location. There is a roof top view of the sea but it was usually closed off in the evening to hotel guests because of local functions or evening business events. I don't really think Cannes was that great of a place either compared with Nice or Monte Carlo. I likely won't be returning to this hotel or Cannes again.

Stayed there twice. Was driving through Cote D Azur, had no reservation, walked in and asked for a room. A week later visited and stayed there again.
First time the experience was exceptional -- the room was extremely stylish, everything was in pink color, and put together with an impeccable taste. The hotel is very modern and stylish, great location and ocean views, walking distance to everything.
The price was high but worth it.
Second stay was more disappointing: the second room was still very good, but not as good as the frst one, and the price was 20% higher.
Overall, very nice place, but what you get may vary depending on your luck.
Booking by walking in was probably not a good idea -- I'm sure you can get a better $$$ deal if you book in advance and ask for discounts, special rates, etc.

Rooms not updated in a very long time --- very "70s".
Horribly boring breakfast.
Staff was virtually unhelpful.
Way way overpriced for the value.
Cannes a lovely place to be in Feb. But find a nice place to stay.

Due to a fair I chose this business hotel which is 7 walking mins. away from the Palais des festivals and approx. 30 taxi mins. (= approx. EUR 70.-) from Nice airport. Its location is quite good, just 2 parallel streets away out the back exit to the famous shopping street Rue d’Antibes. But here are the downsides: Typical 70’s architectural kitsch which most of all was reflected in my spacious Kingsize bed room on the 3rd floor: bright-orange rules plus finger-thick carpet with stains!
Ok, there’s lot of storagespace, seating area, minibar, ironing set, inroom safe and Wifi for charge. My bed was cozy, the bathroom is large, only the housekeeping didn’t seem to have a good week: several times they placed towels with large stains on the racks and the consequently ignored the broken light bulb and left the Kleenex box empty. And I do have something different in mind what they might call turndown service.
Their breakfast buffet with sea view and terrace is for a Hilton hotel poor, especially considering the surcharge for this (thanks to my Gold card this was incl.), no variety, few refills, chaotic and some incompetent service crew.
The pool on the roof and their obviously small fitness room (quote by receptionist) had been unused by me.
Caution: As per 1st Nov. 2007 it’s no Hilton anymore, Sofitel is taking over the management. Finger crossed that there’ll be a change. This hotel urgently needs a fully refurbishment which would only make me to return!

My wife and I enjoyed a long weekend in Cannes from September 6th - 10th. We elected to stay at the Hilton and utilized Hiilton Honor Points for our stay. We were upgraded to a nice suite that offered seperate living and bedroom quarters, kitchen and an outside balcony that was big enough to have our own sun loungers. The Suite was towards the back of the hotel so it offered no street noise and a lovely view of the harbor and sea. The down side of the view was that you could see part of the Hilton roof. The Guest Services manager also provided a bouquet of flowers and a bottle of wine. It appears that this property will try to accomadate Honors Gold and Diamond members with the extra's.
The room could stand some updating but as a short term fix, they have used a cover-up to hide the orange furniture.
The kitchen area was a big bonus. The Fridge provided an opportunity to go the local market and purchase the most wonderful cheese, meats, fruits, baguettes and champagne for light lunches and a little happy hour prior to dinner.
The roof top pool offered the a very nice view of the entire bay. The Cannes yacht show was beginning on September 12th and many Mega Yachts were on mourings in front of the hotel. The pool area offered a great venue to watch all the boat activity.
The hotel location was the best. Easy walk to the train station for our day trips to Monacco and Grasse. Central to about anything you would like to to do, old port, shopping, beaches, etc.
We did not rent a car. We arrived Nice and took the bus (14 Euro per person / 40 minutes) directly into Cannes and then a quick taxi or walk to the hotel. Public transportation was easy to figure out and overall the best way to get around.
I did see some previous posts about the "smell" of the hotel. Some of the floors did have a unique odor. It was not necessarily unpleasent, just different. Kind of like they have cleaned the rugs too much and the deodorizer smell lingers....
The staff was very pleasent and the evening concierge was very helpful in making dinner recommendations. We loved the restaurant "Le Caveau 30" so much that we ate their twice. The Pre Fix dinner is the bargin of the city. Just watch out for the rude waiter upstairs on the balcony that does not like Americans. The balance of the servers were awesome....
Long weekend was not enough for us to see everything. We will be back and would not hesitate to stay at the Hilton again.
