Good and bad

It's really not too bad considering the other places I stayed in but Holiday Villa has it's cons. First - on a rainy day we got a leaky room and a wet bed. but they were nice enough to change us to a new room which leaked is less strategic spots anyway. Cleanliness wise it was ok, I'm not particular about the room but give the place a few more years and it looks like it's going to need an overhaul. Garden Chalets were RM240 when I was there. The beach was very dirty. the resort does nothing to maintain beach cleanliness. The pool was murky as well. The arcade section, well, it's not Genting Highlands standard. Buffet Breakfast was a simple fair, a very simple fair.
HolidayVilla at Cherating really cannot make it.

My friends and i stayed at Holidayvilla at Cherating for two nights. It is the worst resort that i have ever stay. First, when i step into the room, there is a dusty/moist smell and i can feel the foor is dusty too. Secondly, the ceiling light is not working and they take a long time to come after we call for maintenance. After when we come back, we realise that the door is not locked after the repair. Third, the water heater is still not working after the maintenance guys came to repair. We gave up in the end and have to bear with the cold water instead. Fourth, the breakfast is sucks. Finally, the worst thing is i got bitten by bedbugs..... :(

We stayed at this resort for three nights. The accommodation was acceptable with stunning views and a lovely pool. The grounds were beautiful with lots of flowers. However, the whole experience was spoiled by the food. During the three days there not one hot meal was hot. One night 16 of us sent back our meals because they were stone cold. They were returned to us in no better condition and one guest had chicken which was running with blood. We all then decided not to eat our meal. One morning I was first in to breakfast and even then everything was cold. Not fancying cold baked beans I tried the toaster, it took five attempts to brown two slices of bread.
There was no bottled water available for guests either free or to purchase. They supplied two sachets of coffee and two of milk powder, if you required more than that, you were expected to purchase it. Agreed for not very much money, but this claims to be a four star resort which it is not.
If you enjoy your food. dont go to this resort.

We stayed in the Eastern Pavilion villas with friends who had recently got engaged. We had 2 villas - ours slept 4 comfortably. We loved the individual pools and jacuzzis with each villa. Also loved the 2 balconies and entrances so that we didn't disturb sleeping children! 2 bathrooms in each villa was a good touch too.
An idyllic setting - lovely grounds and wide uninterrupted views of the sea. No one on the beautiful, long sandy beach! It felt like our private paradise! It was really romantic (even with children in tow!)
Nice touches included the room being cleaned twice a day - wow! - and trays of fruit and cakes every day at tea time.
The staff were really friendly and helpful.
Only downside - restaurant food was pretty poor - greasy, very expensive and unimaginative, though great tuna sandwiches! However there are some amazing, cheap, truly delicious seafood restaurants only minutes from the hotel.
Also it is quite expensive for Malaysia - and you don't expect to have to pay for the sachets of tea and coffee on top of your room bill!
