I highly recommend El Golf. Previously, we stayed in the central city, but we far prefer Las Condes & would definitely stay here again. Las Condes is a beautiful leafy area to the north east of the central city. It’s quiet a distance from historic downtown, but Santiago has a great metro system – one of the cleanest & most efficient we’ve ever been on & this hotel is only a small block from a metro station. Las Condes has lots of parks, the streets are clean, quiet & feel very safe. The block to the north of the hotel has a lot of cafes & eateries (we highly recommend Akarana) and great shopping two blocks to the west. The hotel has spacious rooms, a great breakfast buffet & a gym.

The hotel is immaculately clean, all staff are attentive and helpful, but the building and appliances are showing their age. However, the charm of this neighborhood coupled with wonderful hotel employees make this hotel worth every penny. (We used octopustravel and payed $91 a night)

Great value for money

Room is clean and very spacious. Excellent value for money as I booked using AsiaRooms for about $60 which is a lot less than their rack rate. Breakfast selection consists of bread, fruit and cheese so don´t expect anything too extravagant.
Is a bonus that internet is free.
Great hotel, great location, very nice staff

My partner and I stayed at the Director Suites on Carmencita in November 2007 for 3 nights for our first trip to Santiago. Please note it can be confusing as the building says Director Hotel, same as their other hotel on Vitacura, but this all suite property is the one that is about 2 blocks from subway station.
I booked via their website and got their Executive Suite for $285 for 3 nights total, $95/night. I saw a walkin at the hotel getting about $170 for the basic suite so this was a good deal I got. Our plane arrived at 630am and I told them I would like an early checkin, they explained that it wouldn't be until later since they planned to be full the night before (I totally understand as I was in hotel management for many years). They also offered to have a taxi pick us up for $15,500CHP (about $31). Upon arrival the taxi driver was there, spoke English, and told us alot about the area on the drive in. The desk clerk told us he could have our room ready by about 930am. We decided to walk around the neighborhood instead of starting out the day after a no sleep flight and the room was ready as promised.
The Executive Suite, I think #87, has 2 twin beds & tv in bedroom, very nice large bathroom, alot of closet space with a safe, living room with sofa, dining table, kitchenette, refrigerator partially stocked with items to buy, and another twin bed (which I think converts into another twin if needed). The only problems I would say is that the kitchenette was not stocked with dishes (which we didn't need, but expected), no iron/ironing board, and tv was in bedroom but would have preferred in living room when one person is sleeping and the other wants to watch. The place was extremely clean and very quiet.
The breakfast buffet was nice- seen better & seen worse, this was average. It had cereal, juices, coffee, danish, yogurt, fresh fruit, etc. On day 2 & 3 they offered us eggs which they made in the back and brought out a small plate for each of us.
The front desk staff was great the entire stay. They were always helpful with directions, getting us a taxi, letting us print to their printer from their free internet business center down the hall, etc. They also offer internet access for your hotel room at a great rate. We brought laptop and they charged $10 for a 24 hour period of usage. Each day we used a couple hours and they only count the hours you are logged on so the full 3 days we only used about 6 hours of the 24. We thought it was going to be $10/day, but was only $10 total. You can also charge your taxi to/from the airport to your hotel bill.
The neighborhood is extremely quiet/relaxing but yet there is alot of businesses there. Realize on Sunday that about 80% of things are closed nearby but all up and running on Monday. Ate at a great restaurant about 5 blocks away on Goyenechea called Pinpilinpausha. It was outstanding quality & service.
If we return to Santiago, I would NOT hesitate to book back at this same hotel. The convenience of the subway/grocery, the friendliness of the staff, cleanliness of the rooms and good rates are definitely all returning factors to me.
