We just returned from our holiday at the Hotel America and had a wonderful time there. The hotel was clean and comfortable and the food was excellent with plenty of choice (even for my fussy eaters). We had a great view of the beach from our balcony and most rooms appeared to have a sea view.
Our room was a family room and there was plenty of space for four of us. Individually controlled air conditioning was great.
The staff were helpful and very friendly, particularly with the children and the entertainment was suitable for all.
Overall I would definately recommend this hotel for families, the resort is quiet but with enough to keep us amused. We will definately go back there.

I stayed here with my boyfriend for 3nights. it is a fair way from the airport taking roughly and hour n a bit to get there, but trust me it's well worth it.
it great value for money being all inclusive, even if you go any other board, it's still good as there's loads bars and restaurants around that are reasonably priced.
the hotel itself is really nice, well decorated and the rooms are lovely now they have refurbished. the best part to stay in the hotel is the annex!!! without a doubt try n request a room in the annex, it's not a thousand metres down the road like some annexs can be, it's literally 30secs from the main building. the position is fantasic, all the rooms look out on to sea and it's a gorgeous view. it's jus enough away from the main part of the hotel to not be disturbed by any noise aswell. if you cant get in the annex then the views from the main building are stunning aswell as they look right out on to the coves.
the coves have stunning soft white sand and the sea is a clear blue. just be warned if you have walking disabilities as there is a few steps that lead down to the beach.
a must do while you are there is play the mini-golf which is 2mins walk from the hotel, it has some very interesting holes which are very challenging but a great laugh.
for going out on a night if you want a change of scene, there is a nightclub/bar up on the main circle just up the road called bar jupiter. this is fab as it is happy hour from 18.00 till 01.00 where u get 2 for 1 on all drinks. if you dress up on the theme nights you even get a free shot.
the hotel is perfect for everyone to be honest, couples of all ages, singles, families with all ages of kids... the entertainment on a night is really good. they have a kids disco as always and bingo then they have lots of different types of shows, everything from quizzes and mr/miss hotel to parrot shows and gymnastics performances.
overall this hotel is the perfect choice for anyone who is wanting to get away to somewhere quiet and beautiful during the day and somewhere with plenty of things to keep you occupied on a night.

Hi,
We spent weeks looking for a nice quiet location for a break for just the 2 of us.
After 2 weeks of choosing, we decided Hotel America was the place to go and booked.
We read previous reviews (APART FROM THE MOST RECENT POSTED AS WE BOOKED IN MAY) and were quite confident we had picked a fab place to go. Happy Days !!!! NOT.
We arrived at 12am, met a Liverpool chap outside reception (We are from the North West also) who was staying there and leaving the next day.
He told us how fab the Hotel had been for his family and we walked into the reception, happy, but exhausted and ready for bed to start our holiday the following morning.
We were greeted by a charming young lady who photocopied our passports and flight Itinery. She then informed us "THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH YOUR BOOKING!!!" I nearly fell through the floor and my fiance walked out in disgust.
She told me we were to be taxied to a "sister" hotel of theirs that "was much better than Hotel America!" (She Claimed!!!) Being tired, I was upset and could only muster "For one night or the whole week?", "The whole week" she replied !!!!!! What a joke.
We got to our new hotel, 4 resorts away and thought we were in Germany.
There are approx 8 Hotels in their chain and I guess they double book so as to get their other Hotels full???? Who knows??
When we got to our new Hotel, they had us booked in, so this had been prior arranged but nobody bothered to inform us.
To make matters worse, I got a stomach infection at the new Hotel and spent 2 days in bed !!!!!
I just hope whoever got our room had a fab time !!!!!
Be Careful with this Hotel, and if you get in, I hope its as good as the great reviews it gets. I would love to go!!! I booked it, packed it, paid for it and got sent away!!! Might as welll have gone on a Allocation on Arrival !!!!
Intrested to see what happens with reviews on this Hotel over the coming months
Have a great hol, wherever you end up, !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Arrived in the Hotel for a one week all inclusive stay at about 3pm and was really impressed. The Hotel itself is located right on the coast over looking the sea, the view is amazing and i would return there just for that alone!
Reception - Really quick and quite friendly, in our room within 5 mins.
Room - Practical, maybe a bit small but generally ok. Amazing panoramic view of the Med' which was loverly. The maids had just left our room but they hadnt really cleaned it brilliantly. Im a cleanaholic so i dont think anything would be up to my standards. There was sand on the floors and the chair had crumbs on it.
The bed was made and the towels changed every day.
Aircon - Not up to much really, room was really really warm in the night and whilst trying to get ready for dinner etc. Wasnt the worst ive experienced tho and it was really hot outside.
Food - Quite good food, always meat and fish and breakfast was really nice, criossants with Nutella YUM YUM!!
You will deffo gain weight at this hotel!
Snack bar by the pool is best. You can get a cheeseburger and chips or Hot Dog or Toaties etc. Very quick and nice.
The pizzeria was a let down as the pizzas where like eating rock and the pasta and sauce wasnt great either, salads and cheese and olives nice tho.
BBQ was also a let down as the 1st time we tried to eat there the kebabs where raw. The chicken was fine tho but we steered clear as we didnt want spanish tummy; i must add that this was the 1st time in spain that i didnt get spanish tummy!!!!!!
Booze - This was great, San Miguel Beer and good local vodka with Pepsi or Fanta etc.
Pool area - The pool areas are really nice, although if you want a sunbed you have to be at the pool for 8.45 no later as there are already people queuing!!! Mainly southerners and Germans!!!!! not good! Me and my hubby needed a parasol for the mid day sun as it was averaging 98'C whilst we where there. If we wanted this we had to get up at 5.45 and tie a towel to the parasol!!!! Not great at all. We only did this once, the rest of the time we didnt have a parasol. The "quiet pool" with the brilliant view is absolutely freezing so i only went in this once but the bigger pool was a nice temp so was great for cooling down. This pool was a bit noisier as there where a few kids arriving. I would imagine this hotel is full of kids now! We left on the 1/7/08 so the majority of the kids where still at school, thank god!
Entertainment - Ok if you have a family, the usual things like talent shows etc, not for us. We tended to sit outside the
cafe bar which was really nice and cool and close to a bar - this is for smokers too. The Euro footy final was on spain v germany, a lot of germans in the hotel with sad faces hahahaha. The atmos' for this was really good.
Location - there isnt much goin on in the resort really, just a few shops and cafes, didnt see any nice restaurants, really quiet place.
The Hotel itself is in a great location, you will have to see for yourself. The beach is a nice small one which is down about 200 steps, not bad getting down coming up again in the heat is a bit of a killer.....especially after sun bathing in the midday sun - not a good move!!
Over all i liked the Hotel, but the resort was a bit quiet for me and my hubby. He is 28 and im 32, we would have liked to go out to a nice restaurant and have a drink in a decent bar outside the Hotel but there wasnt any.
I would deffo go back there and would recomend it to friends and family.

Just returned home from a weeks stay at Hotel America.
Had an early morning flight so we were all tired and hot on arrival.
On entering hotel to the reception area we were all very impressed, first impressions were good, very clean tidy , reception staff very good, efficient and we were in our rooms within 10 minutes.
Our room for a family of four was brilliant very big and spacious with a double bed and 2 singles, a dressing room leading to the large clean bathroom, situated on the fifth floor with a fabulous view of the coves and sea.
The hotel as 3 pools a baby pool and two standard size pools one of which is quite sheltered from the sun and does get very windy on that side of the hotel.
On the down side there are NOT enough parasols for those who need shade and if you want one you have to get up very early to peg your towel on them which isnt what you want on holiday. There are a few more parasols on the grassy garden part of hotel and trees to shade from the sun.
A very short walk to the beach from hotel down a few steps ideal location.
Local bus stop is right outside the door , i would encourage you to use it if you are going on trips as it is an axcellent bus service and all the trips work out much cheaper to do it yourself rather than booking them through the rep, we went to caves el drach which cost 2 euros each on the bus (stopped right by entrance to caves) and then cost 10 euros each admission fee to caves, if i had booked it through the rep it would have cost 34 euros per person.
The town of callas de mallorca is a 2 minute walk from hotel and has lots of lovely gift shops and several restaurants should you wish to eat out.
All inclusive at this hotel is great value for money at this hotel for the drinks and tubs of ice creams and pool side snacks (as long as you like burgers and chips and hard tasteless pizza. Drinks are given in huge measures and not watered down as stated in previous reviews. However our only complaint would be the food, although there is plenty of it and a big choice and is well presented, its taste is VERY bland and there isnt always things you may like my teenage daughter didnt really eat much, there is a kids meal section of nuggets chips beans and mini sausgaes every night. Men must wear trousers below the knee to eat in the dining hall which we we not told about when we booked the holiday, shorts above the knee are not allowed.
Maid service was excellent daily bed change.
Entertainment is good all round family entertainment something for everyone with some really good shows on. Daily activities such as water polo darts football which you can get a certificate for.
The kids entertainers and bingo callers are brilliant...well done to them.
On the whole i would recomend this hotel but just be aware of the food you may need to eat out a couple of times
