The Alberi was a delightful experience. The staff are efficiently professional and helpful and the facilities are excellent. A shuttle bus is available to take you into the old town centre and to the private beach which has plenty of sun beds and parasols. Food is what you would expect in a 4 star hotel.

We felt quite mixed about our stay at this hotel. We were a party of 3, and we booked a "deluxe" triple.
Pros
-There is a beautiful private beach available. The hotel shuttle takes you there, and we all felt it was one of the cleanest and most beautiful beaches we've been on in Europe.
-Cefalu is a wonderful town to visit.
-The hotel pool is nice, too.
Cons
-Our triple was a double with a cot! When I called to book the room, she told me, "We have one left." I find that hard to believe considering there was just a cot stuffed into a small room.
-Air conditioning -- They have some environmental system that cools through the floors, and while the room wasn't stifling, you aren't able to control the temperature yourself. The three of us awoke sweating more than once!
-Walk to town-It's far, farther than I imagined. I walk a lot, living in London, but I wasn't really interested in doing a 30 min walk uphill after dinner. The hotel shuttle stops running at 8:45pm, so if you want to come home after to dinner, you need to spring for a cab, which costs 10euro. (And they aren't easy to find.)
Finally, after all this, we paid 250 euro a night, a small fortune! Save your money.

We stayed at the Alberi del Paradiso for just 2 nights and wished we'd booked more. The staff provided the best service I've experienced in a hotel, all in a relaxed friendly atmosphere that was in keeping with the place. It's a hotel where you can relax totally, the staff no how to be get the balance of being friendly and helpful without being intrusive or trying too hard.
The hotel is a little way from the beach and in a residential part of Cefalu, so doesn't have the best location but it didn't bother us at all. They provide a mini-bus service to the beach and town centre or it is apparently 20 minutes walk.
We arrived early due to our flight time and they had no problem in preparing our room for us quickly... it was a sign of things to come... all the staff seem to enjoy what they do and are happy to help out.
The food is excellent. My wife has a number of food allergies and they were incredibly helpful in preparing everything exactly to her requirements.
The rooms are simple, clean with nice fittings, a good size and include Sky TV. At first we thought there were not many English stations but we then discovered that it was possible to switch to English audio on any of the hundreds of English language programs that are dubbed in Italian.
It's clear they want you to return and we will.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel in June 2007. we paid for a superior room but we think the best ones are reserved for the Italians. Not to say the room was bad but despite our considerable extra expense others were better. You can see quite clearly when the doors are open as maids clean! The food was excellent - plenty of choice and no shortage at breakfast. Dinners were very good too but very poor slow service. The worst thing was the amount of noise from children around the small pool area. Which was a great shame as it is lovely. If you are looking for a quiet location to sit around the pool and read - forget it!

Good choice up the hill from Cefalu
Guest name: david9498, belgium
Our family of 4 booked 2 rooms for a 1 night stay in Cefalu. Please note that this hotel is up the hill from the main street in "new" Cefalu and even further from the old town. We walked up first after parking on the main street because we did not know exactly where the property was. It's about 15 minutes walk up the hill. The properly itself is very beautiful and done to a high standard. We were greeted by helpful staff and found our rooms with no issues. The "sea view" in one room was questionable as all I saw was sky and trees but I didn't care. Our 1 night was quiet and comfortable. We even hit some balls on the tennis court with the kids. We had dinner in the restaurant which was outstanding in food and service. The next morning, we checked out and toured old Cefalu which was very charming. This may be a good choice for someone in the peak season as it is near the coast but (maybe) away from the masses of tourists. The shuttle bus to town did not appear to be running in February. This was not our first choice but since other choices were closed this time of year, we went with it. It was more expensive than I wanted to pay (especially for being farhter away from town) but it was pretty good for 1 night. Please please note : The drive up to this hotel can be a nightmare as we scraped our rental car on the stone wall. The road s no bigger than one car wide in places (with nowhere to pull off !) and is quite dangerous. We drove all over Sicily but the street to this hotel proved to be the biggest problem we had over the whole week.
