Managed to book this room for $1 (!!) in roamfree.com special. Good location, 5 mins walk from the St Kilda Rd tram, which will take you into the centre of Melbourne in about 15 mins! Free parking. Room was very clean, flat screen TV, big wardrobe, nice bathroom, tea/coffee making facilities, minibar etc. Spa, sauna and gym on roof were fine. Pool on the ground floor too! Staff were friendly. Check out time of 12pm is great too!

The hotel took us a while to find. It is off a freeway, so away from public transport and street numbers don't really mean a lot.
This hotel is on the border between business and residential areas, so there is not much around, very quiet at night. You will be the only person walking in the street after PM peak hours.
Best way to get here by public transport is to take a tram along St Kilda Rd, then walk. Allow at least 10 minutes walk from hotel to tram stop.Taxi is a good option late night.
There is a steak house near the hotel, and that's all there is food wise. You may like to consider taking the tram to go back into the city for food.
Room was big, all facilities were there (water kettle, glass, minibar). Hugh windows, and there is no high building immediately around the hotel, so view is not too bad, considering a hotel in city often means saying good morning to people in office blocks across.
I noticed carpet was a little worn, and not sure if some of the stains were old or not cleaned properly prior, did not feel clean. It was obvious that it had coped a lot of abuse.
Staffs at front desk were effcient and polite.
This hotel is generally OK, and is fine for sleeping, but considering the location which is not close to anything, and worn carpet, I will only come back if they have a discount, or if I can't find any other hotel
