Wonderful location - central, yet very quiet. The staff is friendly and helpful, the breakfast ample, and the views from our room stunning. Going out on to the balcony and hearing all the church bells was magnificent. Assisi is a magical place, and staying at Hotel Umbra helped us in enjoying it. Would definitely recommend it.

The Umbra Hotel is fabulously located just off the main square in Assisi. Even though the hotel is a 30 second walk from the square, it is nestled down a quiet little street allowing for a peaceful stay. All guests have access to a communal terrace, which affords some amazing views of Assisi and the valley below . The staff are very friendly making you feel welcome during your stay. The hotel is charming and has recently been refurbished with the Grand Reopening occurring the day before we arrived. I would have given this hotel an excellent rating, but there was one thing that disrupted our stay - the heating. The central heat would turn on full blast every morning at 7am and run for 2 hours. None of the staff knew how to turn off the heat to our room and after the second day they had to disable the entire hotel's central heating. Hopefully, this will get sorted out soon so other guests do not have their sleep disrupted.

We stayed at Hotel Umbra for only one night but were incredibly impressed with the kind, helpful and welcoming attitude of the hotel team. We had kindly asked them to arrange a taxi from Perugia airport which they did with great efficiency. And then from our arrival until our departure, they were unceasingly kind and helpful. The room was lovely and peaceful. The hotel and cultural highlights of Assisi made this a great trip!

A very nice location just few steps from the central square. Umbra hotel is quite good unfortunately I couldn't try its restaurant in low season is closed I think. but they gave a very ggod suggestion. You have to try Trattoria Pallotta just couple of minutes from the hotel friendly service good food and no too expensive, well I drunk a bottle of Sagrantino red wine costs 35 euros but was excellent. buffet breakfast is good as well.
