Good Hotel directly opposite Central station

Rock solid hotel in a very conveniant location just opposite Milan?s main station. Had a single room which had a good size by italian standards. Especially the huge shower was a nice surprise. My room was located next to the elevator which was quite loud but it didn?t bother me much. Light sleepers: better avoid the x07 rooms. Breakfast was solid by italian standards but nothing to write home about. The area around Centrale seems safer at night, than one would think. But be aware that there a no bars and restaurants directly around the hotel. Overall the hotel showed a solid performance on the one hand, but it wasn?t any special on the other. The only thing that stays in mind is the special decor all around.

Hotel is located a short walk from the Central Station which makes it a perfect place if you want to explore the city. Metro lines 2 and 3 can be boarded from here. The Malpensa Express can be reached from here also easily by traveling 5 or 6 stations with the Metro.
The Hotel itself was OK. A small single bed room with a pretty tiny bathroom which was clean but a little dark, a safe and a minibar equipped with 5Euro-per-bottle beer and other drinks.
Nothing to complain about but nothing to be excited about. Breakfast was plenty for italian standards with bread, danish pastries, canned and fresh fruit, cheese, ham, salami, hard boiled eggs and cereals. For an extra 6 EURO you could order your scrambled eggs.
Going out in the evening proved to be difficult. All restaurants and bars were closed at midnight on a friday night. Occasionaly some prostitutes were hanging out in front of (other) hotels in the vicinity. But it never felt unsafe to walk around there.
The price of 90 EURO per night was OK I guess but I might look for a hotel in a more lively vicinity next time so you could go out and walk to a bar for a sundowner.

We stayed one night in Hotel Auriga before to take a train to Venice next morning. The Hotel has a perfect location for those who want to stay near the Milano Centrale Station(3 min walking)!
I am not sure if the location will be good to visit the main sighs in Milan,in this case it is better to stay close to the Duomo.
We arrive after a night flight and took the shutlle bus from Malpensa Airport to Central Station.
Our triple room was very confortable, clean and spacious, even the extra-bed for my son was large enough for him who is very tall. The bathroom was great and also very clean. The room was at the back of the Hotel so no noise from the street at all.On the other hand the noise from the underground was very annoyed from 6 h in the morning,so next time we will ask for a higher room(our was on the first floor).
Excellent breakfast in a cosy breakfast room with quality food (delicious bread) and great expresso coffe!!
Overall a good ,comfortable and clean Hotel and a good value for money!

Auriga Hotel was an experience in classic Italian hospitality and warmth. The decor was elegantly decorative and colourful creating a festive atmosphere in what is otherwise a relatively quiet section of town. Its location only 200m from Centrale Stazione was an ideal launching place to base. (The station's architecture was pretty impressive!) The rooms were immaculately clean and comfortable. When our luggage was lost at LInate airport, our host at Auriga, Mauro, went to great lengths to retrieve it and acted expertly on our behalf. Thank you Mauro! He was also quite generous with his local knowledge and directed us with our transportation queries. We were planning on going to the Milan Shopping Outlets but were delighted to learn that locals go over the boarder to Switzerland for a larger selection and better prices and it was actually closer! I will definitely be staying there again on my next trip to Milan.

We were flying into Milan late in the afternoon, and were then leaving for Florence early the next morning (and got to have our first experience with Italian train strikes!). We picked Auriga based
on location, price, and hotel class (and in spite of the funky picture of the place you see online). It was a very pleasant surprise, and very convenient to the station. They took good care of us, and made us feel quite welcome. And I’ll second another reviewer’s recommendation for Ristorante Dalla Zia on Via Gustavo Fara, 5 (turn left out of the hotel, left on V. G. Fara, and then down a ways on the left). We went based on the advice of a young man we asked on the street. It was a great place to kick off our time in Italy.
