My Husband and I stayed at Orange Hill Beach Inn for five nights, during our honeymoon. We were thrilled with our experience.
Orange Hill is tucked safely away from the hustle and bustle of tourist-trodden Nassau, making it the perfect, romantic getaway. It is a quick taxi ride -- or an easy and cheap bus ride -- away from the airport and downtown core. We stayed in one of the small cottages that face the quiet -- and deserted -- stretch of sand and beach across the road. It was small but cosy, a single studio-style room for sleeping and eating, with a spacious and modern bathroom, as well as a small balcony. The grounds included some lovely gardens, fresh in bloom. We did not make use of the swimming pool. We did find access to coin operated washing machines and dryers very helpful.
The Inn also has a small restaurant. Although we largely cooked for ourselves (there is a small (pricey but excellent quality) grocery store in walking distance and a larger one a taxi or bus ride away), we thoroughly enjoyed the rum cake!
The staff were very helpful and knowledgeable. We received excellent -- local -- recommendations and all the help we needed with booking activities.
If we were to return to Nassau, we would most certainly stay at Orange Hill Inn again. It is far better value and far more peaceful than the large -- often rundown hotels -- closer to the city centre. If you are looking for a little bit of peace and quiet, you most certainly want to stay away from the main hotel strip at an Inn like Orange Hill.

We stayed at the orange hill for 2 nights, the hotel is outdated and not very clean. We had an issue with loud neighbors one night at 2 am - the walls are thin and we were unable to sleep.
If you are used to staying at nice, clean hotels this won't cut it, but if you are on a budget this place can do.
However, the owners are extremely accomodating. They were very nice. And it does feel like a Bahamian experience.
The Orange Hill is a little far from the city so if you need to go into town taxi cabs can get pricey. However the jitney buses are great.

Orange Hill is a great place to stay if you are on a budget and looking for a quiet, relaxing, off the beaten path hotel that is away from all the tourist traps of Nassau. If you are expecting 4 or 5 star, ritzy accommodations, this is not the place for you. But if you are willing to overlook small imperfections by embracing them as part of the 'down-home' experience, then Orange Hill will suit you perfectly.
Our room had a fantastic view of the ocean. It was so peaceful and relaxing. The beach is right in front of the hotel and is mostly secluded and is a good place to swim and snorkel. The location is excellent - close to the airport and all amenities (restaurants, groceries etc.) The self serve bar is great! There is a coffee/tea station that is open all day / evening. The pool was excellent. Staff are friendly.
Tips and imperfections:
Rooms do not have remotes for the tv, or irons/ironing boards. You have to request these at front desk and they are usually quick to honour your request.
The rooms are definitely not spotless when it comes to cleaning, however, they were adequate. Sheets were clean, fresh towels every day etc.
All in all, Orange Hill was our home for 10 days and the pros definitely outweighed the cons for this hotel.

We stayed here for 6 nights and place is very decent for the price. This is not the place where you expect full flash service. But for the price you cannot beat it. Beautiful beach across the street. Great place to snorkel also ( we saw sting ray and many other fishes and got good shells also). Only negative about this beach is BROKEN BEER bottles all over the beach, so please have your beach shoe. Orange Hill is good place for adults or older (teenage) kids. Not much for younger kids to do beside beach. I should have taken portable dvd player to keep my kids occupied late evenings. I would give staff all the credits for great service. If you need few things from the grocery store they would pick that up for you. Wow!

We just returned from our stays in Nassau and Eleuthera in the Bahamas. The first three nights of our stay were spent at Orange Hill Beach Inn. We found the inn to be a great place to stay for our short visit. The rooms were clean and it was nice having a small fridge and microwave to use. The pool was nice, although somewhat cold. The cold didn't bother our kids at all and they used it a lot. The beach is just across the street and very easy to get to. It was mostly deserted every time we went over there.
All of the people at the inn were very nice and helpful. We loved the honor bar (try the rum punch) and enjoyed breakfast and lunch in the dining room. We ate dinner there one night and weren't as impressed. We would suggest walking a couple of blocks down the street to Mangoes for dinner (on weekends) or one of the other restaurants in the mall down there. The mall also has a gourmet grocery store, a liquor store and a pharmacy.
All in all, we think that Orange Hill Beach Inn is a great place to spend a few days in Nassau. We probably would have tired of the setting if we had stayed much longer. There isn't much nearby and taxi rides are expensive. This is not a place for someone who is used to upscale resorts, but you're not paying upscale resort prices.
