arrived at the hotel to find it under renovation--no notice was given to me when making the reservations, and no notices were posted. The toilets were not flushing, carpet nails still on floor and in walls, putty on floor, workers staying in adjacent rooms playing loud latin Dmusic and leaving their doors ajar, getting a late wake up call, and only getting it for one room—had to be at the airport for 5:30 am. Called downstairs and informed the clerk on duty that both rooms were to get a wake up call. She immediately called me back and said “you don’t talk to me like that.”
I got my elderly (WWII Vet) to the airport for his trip to D.C. We had to scramble. Mother and I came back to the hotel and they were changing shifts. I went to the desk to explain the incident to the morning clerk and the night clerk got up out of her chair and began to cuss me. This was so unacceptable I thought I was going to have to call the police.

Before January 2008 I had never heard of a Jameson Inn. I was relocating from Jacksonville, FL to Texas and needed a place to spend the night in Lake City, FL. Jameson Inn that accepted pets so I booked one night there. I was so impressed with the hotel that when we decided to spend the night in Lafayette, LA the Jameson Inn was the first place I looked for. I always make reservations in advance so I don't have to run all over town looking for a place to stay. I made the reservations on line and they honored the rate booked.
The location was easy to get to even with a 26 ft moving truck involved. The parking lot had plenty of room for the truck.
The hotel was well taken care of and the rooms very clean. The beds were comfortable and I got a good nights sleep. After being on the road for 3 days with my car, a 26 ft truck and two unhappy cats it was a nice break.
The next morning I had a great shower ( plenty of hot water and water pressure) and headed west on I 10 feeling much more human. The breakfast was ok, but then I did not stay there for the food. I stayed there because it was a safe, clean comfortable place to stay.
Everyone I encountered at the hotel was very helpful and knew what they were doing.
Overall it was a nice stay and a needed good nights sleep.
There are no Jameson Inns in Texas but I will look for them when traveling in the states where they are located.

This is a good, clean basic hotel. The room was very clean, the king bed was comfortable - good water pressure. The vanity was outside the bathroom which was convenient. There is no coffee pot in the room, but they have free coffee in the lobby. The breakfast was basic with biscuits & gravy, cereal etc. The waffle maker was broken..The front desk clerks were very friendly and knowledgeable.
I would recommend this hotel.

This is a good choice for exploring the Lafayette/Cajun area. Off of a busy road but the room was very quiet. Had a suite that was large, quiet and clean. Nice breakfast with bisquits and gravy or waffles. Very pleased for $89! We looked at other hotels in this area and didn't find any as nice or quiet.
Your are fairly central for Lafayette, Opelusas, Breaux Bridge and down into the New Iberia area. Lots of good eatting here. Hard to go wrong. Must go to Cafe Des Amis in Breaux Bridge. We also went ot PreJeans, which was good ,mostly. Some hits and misses but overall good. Many great little BnBs in this area if you like that. A great area to spend more than a few days in. If you get to New Iberia go to Clementines.

We arrived somewhere around 11:30pm with three young children and were very ready to get some sleep. The person that was at the front desk informed us that our discounted rate that they printed in a travel magazine wouldn't apply because they didn't have a lot of rooms left. We were so displeased by this attitude that we stayed at the near by LaQuinta and had a very pleasurable experience there. Bottom line: If you are going to stay in this town, there are better options. TC from Texas
