The Shangri La is a beautiful, relaxing hotel in an excellent location for touring Chiang Mai. The rooms are very comfortable with good climate control and amenties. In additon, the spa, pool and dining areas are all very nice. The staff is gracious and the service is impeccable. However, there are a few new hotel communication kinks that need to be worked out that will be perfected in time.

This hotel recently opened and the grounds are lovely, the rooms are very nice but they are asking way too much money for what they deliver. The pool and spa are both very nice. They need to work out transportation from the hotel to the markets, seemed a bit chaotic.

Beautiful new hotel in great location in walking distance of the night market. The staff is very nice and there are plenty of them. The breakfasts are wonderful. I would defintly return.

A friend of mine and I decided to go to Thailand through a group called Globotours and they had us staying at the Shangri La Hotel. We got there and were blown away. The staff was insanely helpful. They booked all of our tours and helped us with transportation troubles. They were always willing to write things in Thai for us so we could show them to the taxis and buses. There was construction still going on but the noise was limited. The pool was fabulous. The hotel was very well staffed and very clean. The breakfast that was provided was phenomenonal. There are so many choices, if you felt like having a Thai breakfast you could or you could just have an omelet. I would definitely recommend this hotel to any one staying in Chiang Mai.
