If you need or want to see the nice renowed Dresden I consider it one of the best locations. It is located in the heart of the city, near the Frauenkirche, its new and has a great service. Breakfast is excellent.

Beautiful hotel in a super location but we found the staff to be very snobbish and somewhat rude. When we asked where a specific bank might be found in town, we were asked 'why?' Asked for a cork screw and they were coming up to our room with us so they would get it back. Other issues also. Not what we are used to in our may travels to Europe staying in smaller non-chain hotels with much more charm. Chains are right for the US but lack charm in Europe.

Great Hotel!

Came to Dresden from the US with a good friend. Got a great deal on this hotel and left even more impressed.
The location rocks. Right in the heart of Dresden. Close to everything.
As far as the hotel itself, it was amazingly clean. Wonderful beds. Bathroom is great (love the TV audio in the bathroom). Loved the style of the room. Modern but cozy. Great little cafe in the lobby. The people working at the desk were amazingly helpful and kind.
I don't think I'd even look into staying in another place if I ever end up in Dresden again. It was probably one of the best stays I've ever had at any hotel.
You don't have to think about anything other than enjoying your holiday

I've just got back from 4 nights in Dresden at the Hotel de Saxe, and I have to say it was one of - if not the - best hotels I've ever stayed at. Am not interested in spas and gyms and bars, just clean, quiet, comfortable rooms, a decent breakfast and a good restaurant on site if I need it, and the de Saxe delivered.
The room was beautiful - big, immaculately clean, bright and well-equipped (enough for me, anyway). It was a pleasure to unpack, rather than a chore. Ok, so it is only 2 years old, but even so...
No view to spak of - only onto the roof of the first floor atrium and other rooms - but that was fine. And as for quiet, a big thing for me and a special request - it was perfect. Ok so it was out of season, but the door shut like a safe vault and there was no noise.
The staff were superb - efficient, friendly, and of course speaking English so well it put my attempts at German - schoolboy plus phrase book - to shame.
Breakfast was good though didn't seem to be any cereals, which was a litle disappointing; dinner, on the one night I had it, was good with excellent service.
No hesitation in recommending this place to anyone - the location is also perfect, allowing you to e.g. drop off or pick up stuff part-way through your day.
