Very good location, generally helpful staff

I stayed at this hotel for 6 nights and had an overall very good experience. I would suggest adding a coffee machine in each room as well as a clock.
I was impressed at how helpful the staff people were. I contacted the hotel over the phone before my flight from the US, and they even helped me find my train from Duesseldorf Airport! Once in Dortmund, another staff member helped me with directions within the city.
Only one minor complaint regarding a younger female staff member. Do not make negative comments to a co-worker about the customer! Even though some of us do not know German well enough to use it actively, we are able to understand the language.
Very good experience overall. I might stay at this hotel again.

Stayed here for one night on business. Because my flights to Dortmund had changed, my reservation had been incorrectly cancelled by my own company. However, front desk sorted everything quickly and helpfully and booked me into a wonderful huge suite type room. I really couldn't fault it. There was a bar, two sofas a desk in the main room, a smaller bedroom with a TV and an excellent bathroom. The only fault I could find was having a single duvet for a double bed which was odd... oh and while the room was very reasonably priced (at €70) breakfast was another €15 which was a bit steep.
It was a five minute walk into the centre of town and it is right next to the railway station (not that you'd actually know that unless you had a room on that side of the building).
Very nice stay.

I have stayed in several of the newer NH hotels around Europe, and this one was similar to the others.
Check in was friendly and relatively quick. The room was very good - a bed area, a lounge area, and kitchenette, with the bathroom separated by sliding doors from the bed and lounge areas.
Wireless LAN was expensive as usual, but very reliable.
The thermostat on the air conditioning in my room didn't seem to work so, whilst the fan was buzzing the temperature seemed to remain constantly warm. Consequently I kept the window open most of the time. This was a mistake (but with the air conditioning no option) as the room overlooked the railway station and whilst I am a heavy sleeper, the announcements in the morning and the trains themselves kept waking me up. The curtains were quite thin and also let a fair amount of light in the room.
The room seemed clean and new, and was - as such - very comfortable. It is only 10 minutes walk into town. For a beer in the evenings I went to the Irish Pub further up Koenigswall and to the Boomerang Bar. I would definitely recommend the latter.
I would stay again at this hotel because the rooms were a good size, and the breakfast buffet was also very good.

The hotel is situated at one of Dortmund big boulevards in close proximity to the city center (500m) and the Hauptbahnhof (trainstation). However, we never experienced any noise from the station in the room.
The big plus for this hotel are certainly the rooms. Entering you have a separate room with bar/kitchen (including fridge and microwave), a quite large sitting area with leather sofa and working desk.
Bath -and bedroom are normal size, both areas have sliding doors in case you need privacy. Furniture has a rather modern feel to it and it seems that the hotel has been renovated not so long ago.
A nice extra is the small, but clean and cosy, spa area on the 7th floor. There's a sauna, steam- and tanningroom.
The hotelparking is rather cheap. We paid 6€ /day.
Overall, this hotel is excellent value for money. And as far as the city of Dortmund goes, we were pleasantly surprised !
