Hotel do Canal is approximately 10km from the airport - four floors and features 97 rooms - two full suites - two junior suites and two handicap-friendly rooms. The hotel is close to everything...The boot is coming in front of the hotel..The peter's sport cafe is at 200m...Perfect location. The breakfast is perfect. The sole "problem" was the fact that the room has no view... A place to sta for sure.

I stayed on three different Islands during my trip and this Hotel was by far the best I stayed at. The staff is very friendly and if you have trouble speaking Portuguese, you will have no problem here because the staff speaks english very well. I enjoyed the breakfast and the location across from the Ferry is very convient. Unfortunately, if you visit during the Festa in August, be careful with the local vendors, they routinely try to short-change (cheat) tourists.

This hotel belongs to the bensaude company (like marino atlantico, more or less equivalent to this one but more calm) Hotel do canal is one of their 4 stars hotel. Even if it is one of the best address in horta, a few disappointments: so much noise in the dinning room which is organised to receive groups and families (not a romantic place in contrast with horta island which is so beautiful), and a spa/fistness center which is just here for decoration (jacuzzi was broken and it was planned to be fixed "in a few weeks") We were not lucky with bensaude hotels in azores (the spa center of the marino atlantico in sao miguel was closed during august!) except with the estalagem do clerico which so calm and with a beautiful view. Unfortunatelly there is not so many hotels in horta...

We really enjoyed our 4-day stay at this hotel. The staff were very friendly, helpful and spoke English. They arranged a driver for us in Pico for a day trip. The hotel was spotless and very centrally located, with many restaurant choices in the area. We visited 4 islands while in Azores, and Faial was, by far, our favorite.
