Where should I start? With the dirty glasswear? the bunk beds in the room being directly covering the ONLY windows, the toilet hygeine seal thrown on the counter? NO. I'll start with the best part, the PUBIC HAIR AND BODILY FLUID STAINS IN OUR BED!
Yes, this was my fiance and I's first impression of this hotel and the experience that is currently progressing (gaining a refund that was promised by staff on the evening) is something I do not want to see ANYONE ever have to experience so please, for your own hygeine DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL!

My family and i stayed at this place on 1st Dec 2007, as we came down to canberra for a wedding. We stayed in a 5 person room which thought was going to be pretty spacious. Upon arrival, it was very quite small and the kitchen was tiny.
Overall, clean wise, it was ok... but this was the only hotel ive ever stayed in where they didnt offer soap!!!!
Didnt get much sleep as the walls were so thin& had a man snoring all night until 10 oclock the next morning when we had to check out!!
Bathroom wasnt the best. Shower didnt look like it had been cleaned properly, and the staff didnt have much of a personality...
It wasnt a very good example to see the cupboards FULL of alcohol either!!!
BUT, it was good pricing, and the beds were very comfy!! At least we had somewhere to sleep for the night!!

We stayed in a family room for 5 persons. There was a queen bed in the main bedroom, with 1 bunk bed and a pull out sofa bed in the lounge. The pull out sofa bed was meant for 2 persons but it was not big enough. It was okay if you have 2 small children but the mattress was just horrible. It was about 4 cm thick and you could feel the springs underneath. We pulled it off the sofa and laid it on the floor. As it was the children’s legs fell off the mattress. It was that short.
The queen and bunk beds were comfortable with thick mattresses.
Ventilation was a problem. The windows in the bedroom were not designed to open. The lounge/kitchen/dining had no windows but the main door opening to the corridor. So we had to leave the door open for ventilation.
There was an air conditioner but it blew directly onto the top bunk bed and it was not the best. We had one child freezing on the top bunk and the bottom one complaining they did not have enough air.
Once everyone was in the room, it was stuffy and crowded. There was not much room to move around the lounge/kitchen/dining/bunk bed/sofa bed area.
On the plus side, the kitchen facilities were great. It had a small bar fridge (which held the mini bar items), fridge/freezer for bigger stuff and a microwave and hot plate. There were plates, bowls, cutlery and tea/coffee. The kettle really needs descaling. It was black on the inside – it was once white in colour.
There was also a spa bath which nobody used.
The breakfast was on special at about $15.00 per person but we did not take advantage of it. It had hot & cold items but it look really limited. It was cheaper to buy cereal and milk if you have a big family or eat out.
There were a few restaurants and petrol stations around the corner. Don’t eat at Café Pronto on Lonsdale St. The lasagne sauce was really bright red and the meat tasted as though it was out of a can. My rice had uncooked bits. We felt sick throughout the night.
There is a Greek restaurant diagonally opposite (can’t remember the name) and it had nice big servings. The owner said to the girls “eat all your vegies” and it was rather homely.
There were complimentary newspaper and the staff were really nice.

Stayed in one of the suites for a few days and found them to be quite adequate, if no the most modern place. The rooms were small, but otherwise nice and clean. The bathroom was quite nice, and included a spa. The kitchen was a little cramped but otherwise served its purpose. My only real complaint would be that the sofa beds, which we had to use for part of our stay, were very uncomfortable. I had to use the mattress from the other sofa to sleep properly. Otherwise, we enjoyed our stay and may return.

Well I saw that previous posts did not have a lot of good points but I thought 'what the heck its over 2 years old the reviews and surely Canberra would not allow a hotel to be unclean'. The hotel is actually called the Capital Executive Apartments as it isn't know as the Comfort Inn via its booking site, but does still have the sign out. The staff were excellent, very friendly and helpful especially when i needed a map. The room service was very nice and comes from the Italian restaraunt from downstairs. The bed and pillows were comfy and the room was large. That is sort of where it ends though. The bathroom was dirty, under the soap holder was disgusting, the toilet bowl had something on the outside and there was old soap scum in the shell that held the amenitities. The carpet was dark but there was an odd stain which was nearly larger than the bed. The noise from outside was really loud as it sits on a main road (lucky I was tired as i had been up since 5am otherwise would not of slept without earplugs) and in the morning the Atrium which is right outside your door holds breakfast from about 6am, which means chairs scrapping on the tiled floor, kids screaming, plates crashing around and so on. I think though if they would make a bit more of an effort to clean the place it would be an alright place to stay, as it was only about a 20minute walk from Civic. However, at night this had its drawbacks as it was not close to anything i.e there are only hotels around not any food places. It was o.k for one night but not an extended period. It was cheap though but can be expensive depending on whats on in Canberra as I got it for $113AU for the night, but the rate is normally closer to $160AU.
