MGM is a solid Vegas hotel, and I got a pretty good deal at $110 a night. THE GOOD: The room is a decent size, and we had an okay view of the strip from the Grand Tower room. The hotel is conveniently located toward the end of the strip, and it was a quick drive to almost anywhere we wanted to go. Parking was plenty, and it wasn't a bad walk from parking or entrance to the rooms. The service was also pretty good throughout. The casino wasn't terribly smoky, and you are going to get smoke at every casino. They have a nice food court. The bed was comfy, and the room was pretty quiet. THE NOT SO GOOD: The room does not have a "wow" factor like some of the other rooms at Vegas hotels. It's clean but not as nice and big as the Venetian. There were also little problems with the a/c and bathtub drain that shows the hotel's age. The pool is pretty good, but a little bit of a walk from the room. Also, for kids, the Mandalay Bay pool is slightly better because the MGM only has the lazy river that attracts, but all the other are standard lap pools. OVERALL: It was a good stay but not a fantastic stay. TIPS: The restaurants at the MGM are having a summer special. Look on their website. It's $60 per person for a fixed menu at Craftsteak, Shibuya, and a bunch of other restaurants. It's a really good deal! I've been told that this menu is not on the restaurant menu. You have to ask for it.

My friend and I just returned from a 4 night stay. We had a room on the 28th floor with two queen beds and a large bathroom. Room was clean and nonsmoking as promised. (At times in the casino area, you could smell smoke, but not as bad as other casinos I've been in. I have bad allergies and it was not bad enough to bother me.) Housekeeping came everyday to clean and change towels. I think the service at the MGM is great. The only problem we had was one day the elevators to our floor were malfunctioning. However, a hotel worker was right there to escort us up/down in a service elevator. I thought that was great as many hotels would just throw up an out or order sign and you would be left to take the stairs or something. The elevator issue was quickly resolved. Everything else about our stay was excellent. We ate at the Grand Buffet twice. Once for dinner (around $25) and once for breakfast (around $15.) We were extremely pleased with the quality and taste of the food. I didn't try anything that wasn't good. We also ate a few times in the food court area which was a bit expensive but around the price of what you would pay elsewhere in Vegas. I would suggest buying cokes, water, and snacks at one of the souvenier shops outside of the hotel as they are cheaper. We found the monorail convenient to ride. We bought a 3 day pass for $28 dollars for unlimited rides. Do be prepared to do a lot of walking in Vegas. Just walking through any of the major hotel properties is a long way. I would definitely stay at the MGM again.

We reserved a west wing room on the Westjet Vacations website. The room was clean, new and near both the elevator and the strip. The only complaint was that the bathroom is a little weird and basically in the hallway. The hotel itself was great, we had dinner at Diego and saw KA, both were pretty good. KA probably isn't the best Cirque show, but it was entertaining. I would recommend the West Wing to couples or single people, otherwise you should avoid it as the rooms are a little small. But we did have a great strip view from the 13th floor. The lazy river was also pretty good, but it could have been better with less 'intoxicated' people in it. I probably would have liked it more if I was there earlier in the day. Overall this hotel is great and I would stay here again.

My wife and I stayed in a Deluxe room July 14 - July 19 and were not disappointed. We took a taxi from the airport to the hotel for $12.00. We checked in at the hotel around 3:00 pm instead of at the airport, and had no problems. As stated in other reviews, the rooms are spacious, clean, and have extremely comfortable beds. The hotel is humongous and always crowded with people, so be prepared to walk long distances and fight the crowds whenever you want to go do something. The pool complex is very nice and, although crowded, there were always enough chairs for sunbathing. The lazy river is a lazy river...been there, done that. We went in the Wet Republic (the pay pool club area) one day just to check it out. If live DJs and loud music is your thing, then the Wet Republic is worth it, if not, then save your money. The lion enclosure is very interesting and fun to watch because the trainers stay in with them and keep them actively playing and eating. The two restaurants we ate at in the hotel were Shibuya and Studio Cafe. Shibuya has excellent sushi and I would recommend it to anyone. The menu at Studio Cafe has quite a bit of variety, and although a bit pricey, the food is good. We did not try to eat at the buffet because it is overpriced and the lines are always long. All of the bars in the hotel are pretty neat, however, $12 a drink is a ripoff and that is the standard price. We did not go to Studio 54 or Tabu, we just hung out in the other no cover charge bars. We bought tickets to see KA and the Crazy Horse show. Our KA seats were front row center stage and the show was great, however, before seeing KA people should be aware that it is more of a play and has less acrobatic stunts than traditional Cirque shows. We paid full price for the Crazy Horse tickets in advance, and I think we would have been better off paying half price at the hotel for this show. The hotel location in my opinion is in the perfect location for accessing the strip. The people staying and playing at this hotel are a good mix. Theres not too much drunken redneck revelry, and its not so high class that you get that stuck up feeling from the other guests. I only have 2 complaints about this hotel. My first complaint is the smell of cigarrette smoke that permeates the enire lower level (casino/shops/restaurants). It is just irritating to step out of the elevator in my Sunday best and immediately have my clothes smelling like smoke. My only other complaint is the price of drinks at the bars and food at the less classy places is too high. Trip highlight: KA show Trip disappointment: Shark aquarium at Mandalay Bay (a total waste of money and time if you've seen an average zoo aquarium before).

My 3 sisters and I took our mom to Vegas for 30 hours for her 60th birthday. We arrived at 9 am and I was hoping to at least check in to ONE of our two rooms we had booked for the night to store our luggage. When the girl at the front desk heard why we were in Vegas, she AMAZED us by offering a 2 bedroom suite with a huge living room, kitchen and dining area (with an awesome view of the strip) for the same price as our 2 standard rooms!!!!! Of course we were thrilled to all be able to party in such an amazing room together! Everyone kissed our #$% the whole time we were there, treating us like royalty. The lobby scent of roses was a treat after a dirty plane flight and taxi ride into the city. Room sevice was quicker than exected and brought every imaginable accessory for the breakfast. Lunch by the pool was the only "average" experience.... loud, hot, crowded, and slower than average service. All in all, we would do it again at the MGM in a heartbeat! A great memory for all of us thanks to the MGM.
