Stayed at the hotel for one night prior to joining a cruise. Hotel is very centrally located being a short walk from Plaza Catalunya. Staff were very friendly and helpful, granting late checkout etc. Didn't eat in the hotel, as there were plenty of local cafes for breakfast. Room was okay, spotlessly clean but felt rather drab and the laminated wooden floor gave the room a rather sparse appearance. Shower didn’t work properly. Pillows were very poor quality offering no support with there not being any addition pillows in the wardrobe etc. Pool area was pleasant enough to spend and hour or so. Reception and bar area uninspired and already dated and not somewhere you would want to spend any time. All in all for a new hotel it already feels old and I would rate it as a three star!

Stayed inSunotel Central for long weekend in June 2008. Location is excellent. Five minutes to nearest metro and bus stops right outside hotel to La Rambla and seafront. The top of La Rambla is right next to the metro.
Hotel in all was clean, staff very friendly and helpful.
Added bonus was the rooftop pool and jacuzzi, made a relaxing change to sightseeing.
Didn't eat in the hotel so cant say - theres plenty of cafe's and restaurants around. Try a cafe where the locals go as most of the tourist cafes are pretty much the same.
Found Barcelona itself beautiful but vast. Loved the Catelonaian people, really friendly. Quite expensive to eat.
Tip..Take the airport bus to Universitat Metro for 4.10 euros. The hotel is 2 minutes walk away. The buses run every 6 minutes from early till late.

Hotel was in a great location - minutes from the Metro and about 5 mins walk to Las Ramblas.
Bedroom was a bit small but adequate for the amount of time spent in it.
Breakfast was plentiful and there was a good selection. Did not try the restaurant so cannot comment on it,
Only downside was that the rooftop pool was not open until May.
Staff were very pleasant and helpful.
Would recommend the hotel to friends.

Barcelona was great but unfortunately our holiday was spoiled by the restaurant not being open or indeed building work finished. We booked this hotel specifically as it had a restaurant in full operation, according to the web site. We made several enquiries before arrival to check this as we have both had surgery this year &did not want to have to go looking for restauarants in the evening after a long day sightseeing.
The room facilities, fittings, cleanliness and breakfast were excellent but the noise from the 5 lane road outside the window was very loud and relentless, day & night. The pool & jacuzzi were not finished and loud building work began about 9.30 each day.
The hotel was in an good position for the metro station and a short walk to the centre. It has the potential to be a good hotel but needs to stop advertising facilities which do not exist at present.
