Just got back from Portugal and didn't know we were going to try to stay in Aveiro for a night until we decided to drive in on our way to Porto. It turned out to be one of the nicest places we stayed in our 2 weeks of travels and we loved the town as well. The hotel is small but very stylish and the staff were very friendly and helpful. It was also a great value as we got a room on the back side of the hotel (not viewing over the canals) for only 85 E. Great location. We highly recommend dinner at O Batel, a terrific seafood restaurant; tell Filipe, the extremely gracious owner, Anne & Doug say hello.

This is one of my favorite hotels in the world - I always stay here when I am in Aveiro, and have stayed here 4 times over 4 years now. It is sophisticated but not posh, elegant but not stuffy, in the centre of Aveiro, near the main canal and lots of bars/restaurants. The rooms on the top floor have balconies wit a great view over the town and canal. The service is exceptional. My only complaints are that the rooms don't have internet, although you can access this downstairs, and the coffee at breakfast is not very good. It is also very good value for money.

Spent a perfect week here in May 2007. We loved this hotel and the town of Aveiro. We had a room on the top floor( I think it was graded junior suite) which was very comfortable. The snag with this hotel and many others in Europe is that they do not offer tea/coffee making facilities despite their website description. We discovered this was a translation problem which is perfectly acceptable! The "problem" was easily solved - 10 euro bought us a coffee maker from Pingo Doce(local supermarket), crockery supplied by the hotel and everyone is happy!
The hotel breakfast was adequate for a 3-4* accomodation but did not have a restaurant. No problem, Aveiro has lots of them and they were all absolutely excellent. The reception staff were always helpful in making recommendations to us for restaurants and trips out( we had a car). Try Luso and drink from the spring!!Only minor snag was parking can be a little difficult outside the hotel.

I dont know how many times I have stayed at Hotel Moliceiro since their opening October 8th 1998. I always come back, last time was in October 2005. Cozy bed and breakfast hotel, friendly smiling staff, clean, central placed, price good. It has become my second home when I am in Aveiro.
Recomended.
