Boutique sister hotel of the Majestic around the corner, beautifully styled by kelly hoppen. Rooms are quite small but as we were upgraded to a superior room with its own large terrace it didn't matter. Great ambient light setting. Staff were very nice and helpful except at breakfast which seemed very hit and miss... on day 1 we went to their retaurant and were only offered cold, continental breakfast. So day 2 we requested it in our room and were offered american cooked? we asked for our eggs scrambled but just a coffee and nothing else showed up? we called and within minutes a huge cold selection arrived with eggs, but no meat ! this is a quirk which i am sure will get ironed out as its quite new. The area has lots of high end shops and restaurants, the hotel restaurant is stunningly good if you like asian tappas. Biggest plus is that this is NOT at Las Ramblas! Its only a10 minute walk but the area is much calmer and less chaotic than Las Ramblas. The Murmuri attracts photographers, media and the arty crowd but is not intimidating or exclusive in that way.

My husband and I stayed in Murmuri for three nights in May. It is a very modern hotel with beautifully designed and furnished rooms. The location is fine, though I feel that Passeig de Gracia is a more elegant street, where the Hotel Majestic is located. The staff were quite pleasant, though when we enquired about local restaurants and locations for the tourist bus, they were not very knowledgable and our guide book was more helpful. The hotel lobby is very small and you certainly couldn't sit and relax there. There are only three English speaking channels on the rooms' TV, all of which are news stations!
Overall our stay in Barcelnoa was very good and we enjoyed Murmuri, however we do feel we would stay elsewhere on our next visit.

We've stayed 3 nights on Murmuri, coming from Madrid. The hotel is brand new (only 2 months) and that's why everything is fresh.
The room was a bit small (our bags almost didn't fit open together).
As the whole hotel, the room is well decorated and there was lots of amenities (ipod dock, nice bathroom, lcd tv, wi-fi for 15 euros/24hs).
The location is so so. It's a fancy neighborhood but kind of far from the attractions (besides La Pedrera and Sagrada Familia). There are two great options to eat only two blocks away: one Tapas bar called Cerveceria Catalana and the Michellin 3-star Lasarte. I recommend both.
The staff was very helpful, specially Sarah, who allow a late checkout.
Overall it was a great deal, because there was a promotional price for the opening with an included breakfast.
I should return in a future trip to Barcelona.

I just stayed last week at the Murmuri hotel for 3 nights. I was for sure worried as this is a brand new hotel. It was wonderful. Staff was lovely, beds excellent, bathroom beautiful with all essential ameneties. Quiet for a city hotel and tucked away on great street. Hotel was very accommodating, spoke English well and were eager to help/suggest/make reservations. Only slight complaint is position of shower head - it was odd but got used to it. Rooms are a little small but honestly was never in my room.

We had two rooms on the fourth floor, both had terraces, open and inclosed with great beds. The location of the Hotel is super. Quiet at night yet a block away from the high end shopping street and a short walk to the Old Town. The Hotel is nice and the staff is very helpful. All dinner recomends were great. Also, the asian themed restaurant in the Hotel is very good. The size of my room was fine. I don't know about the regular rooms. I would be sure and ask. I think this is a good hotel for Barcelona.
