We spotted a weekend deal that seemed too good to be true. It wasn't. It was brilliant. The Apollo offered a HUGE family suite with bathroom, as well as a buffet breakfast each day and then threw in tickets for a family of four to Cadbury World! We had a marvellous weekend and would happily recommend this hotel to anyone.

Awful!

This was the most awful room and hotel I have ever checked into. As soon as we saw our room for which we had paid ?50, we checked out again. It was filthy and nothing like the rooms in the pictures on the web site. This hotel does not even deserve one star!
Value for money, clean and friendly City hotel

I cannot believe how many people are moaning about this hotel.. all i can say is maybe they're snobs? who knows!!
For the price and location it was fab!
we booked for one night 14th june 08, it was a triple room (149) ground floor, could park our car right outside and put things through the window rather then walking all the way around.
Reception was really nice, clean, modern and welcoming. Quick check in, reception was very helpful at booking us taxis and stuff..
Our room was a triple, very clean, 2 comfortable arm chairs, plenty of space to move around, beds very comfortable and clean sheets.
Only small moan is the shower was a bit cold, couldn't get the hot coming through much, but weather was hot anyway it was nice to have a cool shower, im sure if we had complained to reception they would have sorted it out for us.
Breakfast included in the price (?75) was lovely, help yourself buffet, lovely hash browns best i have ever tasted! all you can eat...
Free parking, plenty of spaces, spoilt for choice...
In a good location, very short (?5) taxi ride to broad st..
literally across the road is TGI Fridays and Beefeater..
they do offer room service but as always very expensive..
Anyone who has slagged off this hotel is mad! its lovely, if u want a good priced hotel, clean and near to broad st this is the place to go!
Will definately stay here again!!!

After reading some of the reviews we were pleasantly surprised that our stay at the hotel was so comfortable and enjoyable. All of the staff were extremely helpful and polite. The meals were excellent with good chioces in the evening and I could not fault the breakfast. Our room looked as though it had recently been redecorated, and was also very comfortable and clean. I would definately visit this hotel again if I was visiting the area.
