We stayed here while attending an air show in North Weald with a large group of Norwegians. The room was very small for the 3 of us, very shabby decorations, old bedding and curtains. We understood that the rooms were under going re-furbisment, sorely needed!!
The first morming we were woken by the over sensitive fire alarm going off at 7am!
The comments from staff outside said that the chef had burnt the toast again! From other guest we talked to, this happen all the time!
The next morning there was no hot breakfast available as the gass cooker was broken! Ok things happen, but we got a very negative view of this hotel and would not stay here again.

Hotel is still in state of refurb - even though it was supposed to be completed. Carpets are taped in communal areas, bar looks to be half done (although described as relaxed, sophisticated on room card). Music in bar is too loud, ceilings are yellow and old air con units are smoke stained and do not work. Bar is understaffed with 1 person doing food and drinks - had to wait.
Room finishings are sloppy i.e. old burred and tarnished brass door knob on one side of bathroom door and new silver, smaller one on other side. Old wooden pelmets on new curtains. Bed mattresses hard and uninviting.
Breakfast room is chaotic, with staff running around trying to replenish hot plate food. Hotel had run out of yoghurt to go with breakfast ftuit and we had to wait for eggs, bacon and gave up on sausages least breakfast got cold. All the chairs in breakfast room are odd and include office chairs, tub chairs and wooden ones. Staff are not co-ordinated and training seems to be lacking in customer service in some areas. On checkout Sunday the desk was unmanned and had to go and find someone.
Pool area was good as was steam room and general gym faciliaities.
I booked on my Raddison Card and whilst it is a 3 star establishment I expected better of this group. Needs some directional management and motivated staff.

Park Inn - DO NOT STAY HERE!

An awful place to stay. Several members of my party checked out early due to dirty rooms, no electriciity, TVs not working. My room was OK in that everything worked but the bathroom was mouldy and new windows had been fitted but the surround wall was damaged. I thought I would catch something by sitting on the furniture. There are man holes on the ground floor which are taped over. The decor and carpets were in need of change 20 years ago. On the plus side the breakfast was good and the leisure facilities not bad but that was it!
Not worth it

As others have mentioned, lots of gaffer tape on the floor. Mattresses that should have been replaced a couple of decades ago. (If you can find a ridge people have not been sleeping on, you might save your back.) Restaurant poor when serving. Pub food poor when serving. Room rate may include breakfast but if so, no one will tell you until you are checking out, and then only if you ask very pointedly. Wifi at a high price, unless you find and illegally use an open hotspot at a neighboring property. I am not terribly picky about hotels but resented paying the price of a nice place for one that definitely is not. Am giving two stars because I did not have one of the mouldy rooms others have reported, although I could smell mould in the hallway.

Thank You for an experience that I wil never forget...Hot and cold running insects,Mould on the ceiling, Flickering lights to indcuce a fit,a corriodor with so much Gaffer Tape to make it look like Scrapheap Challenge!,The place looked clean,Check-in was fast and efficient. That was to get you in quick before you saw the rest of it.I was in a party of over 20.My room was fine I had no mould,I had plaster on walls and a door that didn't fall off it's hinges when you opened it !!! I did witness all of these, within the first half of an hour of reaching the " Inn ". This was to be a weekend of shopping and relaxation little did we know that Harlow had conspired against us. Let's start with the Bar..how anybody but The Ritz can justify 14:80 for two double vodka and cokes !!! and almost nine pounds for a brandy and lemonade ! is beyond belief.Thankfully I drank the cider at three pound a pint..My party after a hard day needed to relax, how can they do that when every round of the same drinks come at a different price? I do feel sorry for other members in my party. My room was fine ( but the Steam...sorry smoke alarms are a bit delicate). The Leisure facilities were good, the Breakfast was good,BUT please really consider every other avenue before stopping here. This is not a family place....
