Ich war schon mehrere Male im Intercity und hatte eigentlich nie Anlass zur Beschwerde. Die Preise waren immer ausgezeichnet und bis zu meinem letzten Besuch habe ich mich recht wohl gefühlt.
Obwohl ich auf dieser Reise viel Negatives erlebt habe, möchte ich zunächst die positiven Punkte hervorheben.
Das Personal an der Rezeption ist fantastisch- nichts ist ihm zu viel Mühe. Das reicht vom Ausleihen eines Regenschirms bis zum Verschenken kostenloser Fahrkarten für den öffentlichen Nahverkehr für die Zeit Ihres Aufenthalts.
Da hört aber der gute Service auch schon auf!
Die Bedienung an der Bar war schrecklich. Wir wurden von einem jungen Mädchen bedient, das äußerst unhöflich war. Ihre Haltung war empörend und obwohl ihr Vorgesetzter neben ihr stand, unternahm er nichts. Als wir uns bei ihr beschwerten, wurde sie nur noch schlimmer und dann flüsterte sie mit ihrem Vorgesetzten und lachte. Beide waren äußerst unprofessionell und unreif. Ein schlechter Beginn nur 15 Minuten nach unsrer Ankunft.
Das Zimmer war in Ordnung. Die Hygiene ließ allerdings ein wenig zu wünschen übrig, besonders in Bad.
Der Toilettensitz war schmutzig. Der Bereich um die Angeln, an denen der Sitz an der Toilettenschüssel befestigt ist, war schmutzig und voller getrocknetem Urin - es war eklig. Die Haare des Zimmermädchens waren überall in der Toilette festgetrocknet.
Die Fugen an den Wänden des Bads und der Dusche waren dreckverkrustet.
Die Handtücher waren alt und abgenutzt.
Die Laken wiesen Löcher und Flecken auf.
Das Hotel war früher ein großartiges Hotel, aber mangelnder Kundenservice und das Nachlassen des Reinigungspersonals haben zu Problemen geführt. Das Hotel ruht sich aus seinen Lorbeeren aus. Die Probleme können leicht behoben werden. Einige Angestellte müssen im Kundendienst geschult werden und alle Zimmer einmal gründlich und dann täglich peinlich genau gereinigt werden.
Nachdem ich das losgeworden bin, werde ich nicht wieder in dem Hotel absteigen. Das Best Western wird das nächste Mal mein Geld bekommen.

I have stayed at the Intercity on numerous occasions and have never had cause to complain. The rates are always excellent and until this latest visit, it has been a pleasant experience.
Whilst I experienced many negatives on this trip, I would first like to point out the positives.
The reception staff are fantastic - nothing is too much trouble; everything from the loan of umbrellas through to giving you free public transport tickets for the duration of your stay.
However, this is where the good service stops!
The bar service was terrible. We were served by a young girl who was extremely rude. Her attitude was disgusting and even though her manager was next to her, he did nothing. When we complained to her, she was even worse and then started whispering to her manager and laughing. Both were extremely unprofessional and immature. A bad start only 15 minutes after our arrival.
The room was adequate. However, the hygiene leaves a lot to be desired - especially in the bathroom.
The toilet seat was filthy. The area around the hinges holding the seat to the bowl was built up with excess dirt and old dried urine - it was disgusting. The maids hair was all over the toilet and dried on.
The grouting on the walls was filthy and caked with dirt all around the bathroom and in the shower.
Towels were old and worn.
Bed sheets had holes in them and were stained.
The hotel was once a great hotel but simple customer service issues and lapses in housekeeping have caused problems. The hotel is relying on previous past glory. These issues are simple to rectify. Some good customer service training for certain staff members and a deep clean in all the rooms followed by a more rigorus daily clean.
Saying that, I will not return to the hotel again. The Best Western will be getting my business next time.

The hotel does not look appealing from the outside, and is surrounded by lots of traffic and lights. Train, rail, cars, but that is what also makes it lively. We saw an interesting accident during our stay, a bus colliding with another bus. Do not expect a romantic view. The location near the station is the main attraction. Was quiet a hussle to get there by car, but perhaps it's our lack of experience with German traffic signs. The parking garage is fine. Space in the rooms is another asset. Rooms are big, very big. Desk staff is fine. Bar and restaurant staff is very friendly and informal. Good choice of food. During our stay there were several big groups (students from Asia) in the restaurant, which made it a bit noisy. All in all - not having been in another Wuppertal hotel - this one seems to be a fine choice. But again, do not expect romance ...

Iam a business traveller and have to state that the InterCity Hotel in Wuppertal is by far one of teh best business hotels I ahve ever visited. Great central location, superb and friendly service, great food in the Fleming's restaurant, great internet connectivity, spacious and clean rooms. Great value for money... A must for every traveller to Wuppertal.
I can highly recommend this hotel.
