Spent 3 nites in prague with my husband. Paid an extra charge to obtain a room overlooking wenceslas square which was worth every penny. Clean and modern room with a fab power shower and large deep bath. Staff v friendly to us and breakfast a normal eastern european standard. Don't bother with restaurant in basement.

Do not have great expectations!
The hotel is nice, the staff friendly, the rooms tidy, the breakfast good.
BUT everything is very simple and not luxurious.
I stayed 3 nights, it is located centrally, yuo can reach every attraction by foot,
but there is the tube in front of the hotel too.
Near the hotel very is a fantastic shopping centre : I suggest to visit it! You will be very surprised!
For a brief stay I Suggest this hotel ! It was good !
avoid at all cost!

PROs: Great location
one redeeming factor, night staff named Martina gave us an electric fan that night when we could not sleep since the airconditioning of the room was busted. then finally she moved us to another room with a working airconditioner
CONs: overall Very Rude staff especially Maria of the day shift at the front desk
Hot room aircon and when we complained Maria of front desk said that all rooms was set at the same temperature and all aircon units were working fine which I found hard to believe since we were perspiring profusely inside our room 201 and our parent's room which was down the hall was pleasantly cool. After complaining several times she still refused to acknowledge that something might be wrong with the room's aircon unit. Until I finally had to raise my voice at her did she finally give us another room. But at this point we had already wasted our whole morning which would have been better spent sightseeing
rooms had a musty smell
housekeeping does not throw the trash everyday
food at the restaurant is overpriced and is really nothing great
Overall: there are a lot of other hotels in the same area so if you are after the good location, better spend your money elsewhere this hotel is not worth it!!!

Had a most unpleasant experience whilst sitting outside this hotel having a drink on the evening of the Czech rep v Turkey Euro 2008 match. A German tourist on the next table had received his bill and it contained charges for food and drinks he hadn't asked for but had been brought to his table, and for food that hadn't arrived too! The waiter was indifferent and shrugged his shoulders, then brought along the manager who was equally uncooperative. Then to our amazement the manager went and knocked on the window of a police van which was parked just outside the seating area, keeping an eye on the crowds watching the match on the large screen at the bottom on Wenceslas Sq. So now 3 policemen, the manager and waiter were all ganging up on this poor man who was very polite and calm but determined to stand his ground. He kept claiming he hadn't been at the table long enough to have eaten and drunk all that they were charging him for. The scene was so ghastly, and happening within a metre of our table that we decided to leave. Some customer service! Our drinks were an outrageous price too. Avoid this place. Try eating or having a drink at Nebozizek, half way up the funicular to Petrin Hill - lovely and reasonable prices too.
Prague Inn Restaurant

Just a quick post to urge others to avoid eating at the Prague Inn or at the very least be aware of possible extra costs. We ate at the Prague Inn on our trip to Prague. The meal itself was less than special. However, there were a few things that rubbed us the wrong way even more.. namely items that we were charged for unknowingly. First off, the restaurant has pretzels on all the tables. We mistakenly thought these were complimentary, maybe like chips or bread in the states. After having one the waiter came by and told us that it would cost us 50 crowns for the pretzel. This was a surprise, but we realized we possibly shouldn't have been so presumptious. However, with our meals two small pieces of bread (truly small, like the size of a small egg) were brought out. We didn't think twice and assumed the bread came with our entrees. It turned out, of course after we had eaten the bread, that on the bill there was a charge for the bread and butter. We had to ask what the charge was for... the waiter informed us it was for the bread and butter. And no, we did not order the bread and butter, it was brought to our table with the entree. Why would the waiter or restaurant take bread to a table that costs money when it wasn't ordered. It would be like bringing entrees to the table that we didn't order. Of course, the waiter did not mention that the bread he was bringing was not part of the meal and that there was a charge for it. Lastly, we were told that to use a credit card there would be a 150 crown service fee. We were told they'd take credit cards, but weren't told about the service fee that equates to around $10! until we were paying (and seeing all the other extra charges).
All in all, the worst meal experience we had on our central european trip and sadly, the most costly.
Please, if you choose to eat at the Prague Inn, make sure to be aware of the possible extra fees... the place isn't worth it.
