after staying at sheraton acouple of times i was most disappointed to be unable to book same this year,after much thought we opted for iberotel,1 not so great point,rooms,while adequate could badly do with re-fit,really need freshened up,painted,new carpets and furniture,what adifference this would make! otherwise nothing but positives,extremely helpful,friendly and always smiling,nothing too much bother,esp chap who took care of us and our room204,spotless and aways clean towels&plenty of loo paper,just in case!unfortunatly wife had tummy problems,after trying tonic water & cure for all ills,antinal,(not this time),asked excellant reception staff to call for doctor,he was in room,giving treatment within 30mins,&appologised for taking so long! he explained in detail what meds were&for before admin,of meds,and true to his word my wife was 90% better in 20mins,a really gifted and very pleasant doctor,who also came back next a.m.to check on wife,we were out,he returned again p.m,this time we were in,special thanks toMr Tamer A Gawad for his PERSONAL enquiry into my wifes health next day,personaly typed & hand signed,a very appreciated gesture.Thanks for unforgetable holiday."i'll be back".regards david &joan stewart,clydebank,scotland

We have just come back from a weeks stay in luxor and what a holiday. I cannot fault the hotel and staff they were all very helpfull. The hotel was very clean and confortable, we were lucky and had a room with a nile view. I would recommend this hotel to anybody,

We've just returned from a fantastic week at the Iberotel, Luxor. The hotel was superb - definitely worth it's 4 star status and it was spotlessly clean. The staff were fantastic, very helpful and friendly, the gardens and pool were beautifully maintained and the food delicious. The rooms were large - we booked a standard room but in addtion to the main bedroom we also had a completely separate lounge and the little surprises left for us by our cleaner every day made a nice touch (towel sculptures and flowers). We had a room with a street view but we didn't feel we missed out by not having a room with a Nile view because the street life below was so engrossing and we'll be booking a room with a street view when we go back! Anyway the views of the Nile and the Theban Hills from the pool, restaurant and bar are absolutely stunning, especially when the sun is setting! We would recommend booking any excursions through Karnak Tours, just around the corner from the hotel on the Corniche - much cheaper than the tour operators prices. Also don't miss out on the one day Nile cruise on the Lotus Boat which operates from the hotel - an excellent day out! You will get hassled when you leave the hotel but it's not a problem once you get used to it and the Egyptians are really nice people. The beggar children in town were more of a problem as they just wouldn't give up but a good idea would be to take a good supply of biros to give away - they keep asking for pens - in fact everyone, even the shopkeepers ask for pens! Overall a five star holiday and we can't wait to go back!
