As you can see we stayed at the Sebel Vanuatu earlier this year. The hotel was lovely, (ask for a room above level one), staff very accomodating, we had breakfast included in our package & was very nice. The one thing I would advise is to go in the cooler times (if Vila has a cooler season)as it was so hot in March that we couldn't take advantage of our balcony because it was too hot, a shame because the view was superb. Swimming pool lovely but not refreshing because it is in the sun all day (not sheltered at all) & like a warm bath.

We stayed there for 5 nights on a package which included full breakfast in lieu of the usual continental.
The staff were very friendly and were always trying to assist 110 percent.
There were a number of small but annoying problems in our room which indicate the rooms were not inspected carefully after building. The rail on the fridge door was so weak it fell off if you opened it too fast spilling glass bottles onto a ceramic tiled floor. The door on the shower was spring loaded but the cracking noise when opened was quite disturbing. The bottom panel on the balcony door was cracked. The bathroom has a large window opening into the bed room supposedly to look out through the balcony doors while taking a bath. At night you can activate a blind to close off the window but whenever the bathroom lights are turned on at night (to answer the call of nature) the bed is illuminated with a strong light which obviously wakes anyone sleeping. Other than these problems the rooms were adequate in size, modern and reasonably appointed. I have stayed in a lot of hotels throughout Asia primarily and this was better than most.
Room service always ensured the room was clean and tidy and stocked with toiletries. I didn't have to call once for a missing towel.
The breakfast dining room was one of the best I have seen with the views to Iririki. The continental breakfast looked average ie fresh fruit, cereal, toast, small selection of cold meats, juice and tea or coffee. The full breakfast, for me, was excellent with poached eggs benedict on smoked salmon toast, omelette with fresh spinach and smoked salmon. Despite these delights they could not cook a hash brown and the veal chippolata were flavourless.
Dinner was expensive compared to most restaurants in the area and poorly conceived and executed. There are so many good, reasonably priced restaurants in the area (one of my favourites is L'Houstalet) that I am sure the Sebel will certainly not attract any return business for night dining.
There is a dock area next door to the hotel which does make a considerable amount of noise during the day but this noise can be blocked out by closing the balcony door. We did not spend a lot of time on the balcony or around the pool as there was plenty to do around Port Vila.
