In my opinion, a hotel must meet certain basic criteria in order to be considered for a revisit. The bed, pillow, and linens must be comfortable; the room must be quiet enough to sleep in; and it must be clean. Al Madarig meets all these criteria, and I would consider another stay. There are several caveats, however. First, the hotel is facing a town square. On the weekends, local youth carouse until the wee hours. You should request a room which does not face the square. Second, the restaurant is rather poor. This is not a serious problem, as there are several good restaurants within easy walking distance. Third, be aware that this hotel, like many Sicilian hotels, plays the “a/c game”. You won’t get working a/c in your room unless you expressly request that they turn it on for you. Even so, they then turn it off at 4AM, making things rather stuffy by the time you wake up. Nonetheless, all in all this is a good basic hotel which I would revisit.

Good modern hotel on a piazza overlooking the bay. The hotel was quiet when we visited and they gave us one of their best rooms - a sea view on the top (2nd) floor. The room was large - partitioned into a living area and bedroom, with the sun streaming into the room in the morning. Free internet, good breakfast, friendly and helpful staff - they arranged a taxi to Scopello for a walk in the Zingaro Nature Reserve after we missed the bus. We also visited Segesta by train from the hotel.

I booked this hotel through BB Planet.it We stayed 3 nights. This hotel is located in a little resort/fishing village. It took us 25 minutes to get to the Palermo Airport (PMO). The location is great. We could see the Mediterranean from our room(outstanding). The hotel is located next to the town square and must be noisy during in-season. The hotel restaurant was good. Most of the staff spoke pretty
good english. We had a double an a triple room. Both rooms were large and clean with good beds and bathrooms. This was my fathers favorite hotel on this trip. There is small grocery store and a variety of restaurants you can walk to. Actually you can pretty much walk all over this town. We took a day trip to Segesta from this hotel because my dad was ill when we toured it from Marsala. You could easily tour western Sicily from this hotel. They had free internet and a computer. There was a fridge and a safe in the rooms. There was free parking on the street. We thought this hotel was a bargain.
