We stay here every once in a while and have seen it go down in service quality and everything else, however, they are trying to improve - or get some of their "priorities" straight. The main problem is that it is a huge hotel and their front desk and restaurants are just way too small for their total capacity. That is why you should try to stay at the Club level when you stay here. In that way, you will avoid lining up at the front desk, and line up for breakfast, and line up for the elevator and line up for etc.... The location has become convenient, as they now have the Minato Mirai Station a quick walk away through the shopping arcade.

This hotel differs from ICH concept. As I have used to in Europe. Hotel is large and seems that this hotel is not well organized. We came one hour before official check-in time (14:00/ 2PM). Reception was unfriendly, staff member stated first that there are no reservation for us as it was quaranteed from hotels website. After waiting it was found and we were noted three times that we are two guests accomodating room with queensize bed, as I knew what qz-bed means. Receptionist told us to go out and come later. No option to wait in lounge wasn´t made. We took our luggages and came back after 45 min. There were other guests sitting in lounge and waiting for check-in. They had same experience as we had. Finally got our room, no help to get luggages to room wasn´t provided.
Room was basic, bit small and clean. Soundproofed room with clean bathroom with Japanese automatic toilet. Basic amenities.
All in all this hotel didn´t gave us five star stay at the end of our Japan tour. Yokohama is nice place to spend time, this hotel gave only peaceful night to sleep. Which we appreciated. I send customer feedback to hotel chains main website, they apologized though.

If you are a smoker who is tired of being forced outside to smoke in the U.S. because smoking is prohibited in the lobbies, hallways, and restaurants of hotels, especially upscale US hotels – than this is the place for you.
If you are like the vast majority of the U.S. population who has come to enjoy and expect a smoke- and stink-free environment especially in the smoke-free room you reserved – this is NOT the place for you. Two “special cleanings” latter, my room still stunk. I would not stay at this hotel again because of this. As noted by others, the lobby furniture also is very shabby for a hotel of this quality and badly needs replacing.
If you can get past the smoke – the hotel is lovely and the staff was most helpful! The rooms were huge. We tried room service once and the buffet breakfast once – the food was excellent. I found the staff to be extremely friendly and helpful to a person on their first visit to Japan – especially as I was just one of the many, non-Japanese speaking Westerners they were hosting for a major conference. I never went to the pool/spa/workout room due to the very high additional charge.
The best place around the hotel for the food that we found was “World Porters.” A shopping mall about 2 blocks away (across the river and past the Ferris wheel) which had a wonderful conveyer-belt sushi restaurant, a grocery store with fresh fruit and vegetables, and an Italian restaurant, “To the Herbs” with wonderful NY style, thin-crust pizza.

We stayed here August 29th through September 3rd while we attended Nippon 2007 (the 65th World Science Fiction Convention and 46th Japan Science Fiction Convention, combined). It was a great place to start our travels in Japan.
The room was large and very clean. We had a lovely view of the water, and the hotel was convenient to the Convention Center. To the Northwest was Rinko Park, to the Southwest were the Queen's Square and Landmark Towers with multi-levels of shopping and restaurants and the entrance to to Minato Mirai transit station. To the East was Yokohama CosmoWorld Amusement Park with its giant ferris wheel, and Yokohama World Porters with more shopping and restaurants. There were many lovely walks in the area and lots to see.
The courtesy of the staff was extraordinary, even in a country known for good manners. One example, towards the end of our stay my room key had worn out. When I went to get it fixed one of the staff apologized, asked me to wait while they made a replacement key, and then escorted me back to the room to make sure the key worked!
We did not eat in the hotel. Usually we would go to one of the places in the mall for breakfast, pick up snacks for lunch, and then have dinner at a different restaurant.
I would recommend this hotel as a good starting place for a trip through Japan.

We stayed here as the main conference hotel for the conference we were attending ... found service in the J (Asian food restaurant) on the top floor disappointing - I mean, if you have staff bow to the closed door of guests, you should at least have staff stop by the dinner table and see if you can sell them some more food or drink ....).
Breakfast in the hotel poor value compared to the nearby mall.
