Excellent Party
Guest name: malhotra007, Dubai
We had gone for the New year Eve party on 13 Dec 07. The party was excellent and service commendable. The food however would not suite every one's taste. Would recommend.
We would prefer to try other hotel next time

We stayed over night. Hotel was avarage. Room was clean, but beds were uncomfortable. Mountain view from a window in the room at least gave us some relaxation away from a hectic life in the city.. Hotel staff was not overly friendly. I was asked to give my driver's license when cheked in. They kept it till we checked out. I personally didn't feel good about that especially the check-in staff was not friendly.

Treated very well with a lovely basket of fruit and chocolates delivered to our room.
The room was a little old fashioned but was very clean and the hotel was nice and quite with good facilities and pools etc..
Very good value for money.

We (2 of us and 2 small children) wanted a break from Dubai and the Intercon in Al Ain was great. We stayed in a King Executive Suite which was good value and gave us a bit of extra space to relax. Extra matresses for the children provided free of charge. The hotel is quite old and a little bit tired, but the staff are fab and it has a really good, friendly and relaxing atmosphere. The pool attendants and lifeguards deserve a special mention as does the girl giving salsa lessons to a mixed bunch of enthusiastic students outside on Friday night. We hadn't stayed in Al Ain before and it was, indeed, less humid and a few degrees cooler than Dubai. Plenty of restaurants to choose from, great mixture of local and international guests. We will return.

We came to the Intercontinental at Al Ain exhausted after a sleepless night previous thanks to a room that was too close to the disco at the Mercure Jebel Hafeet. The Intercon saved the weekend. Elegant reception with efficient check-in, we had a beautiful suite with a huge separate bedroom, huge walk in wardrobe and large well lit bathroom with a swing out make up mirror. There were sliding doors from both the bedroom and lounge opening onto a patio with a table and chair setting. It even had its own kitchen, not that we used it.
Buffet breakfast extensive including "pork products" ie 'real' bacon and a chef cooking omelettes at your request.
Well equipped gym. There's a beauty salon on site too.
The large pool area is designed to resemble a rock pool, there's a separate toddlers pool and also a lap pool for those who want to get serious exercise. Lots of families enjoying the facilities and there are plenty of lifeguards. There's a swim up bar serving both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks (he mixes a very nice Virgin Pinacolada) where we sat for some time winding down and relaxing. If it wasn't for a committment in Dubai we would have stayed an extra night. We'll be back!
