Nice hotel with good accomodations. The room is not huge but sufficient, bathroom spotless and everything which was needed was there. Good breakfast, but nothing fancy. Dinner in the hotel was also very good for a reasonable price! I very muched liked the sauna, which is pretty hot 90°C-100°C. But the pool on the other hand was sometimes to cold...

Just returned from Budapest and the Stadion Hotel.. Very good, clean, pleasant staff. The breakfast was fantastic, would suit every taste. However, there was a hpspitality tray in the room but little in the way of teas and coffee and no milk. I suggest that visitors take a few sachets of coffee and some powered milk. The meals in the restaurant were very good and they do a large well filled baguette at lunch time.

I stayed at Stadion at the beginning of April this year. The hotel itself was OK, and the staff were friendly and helpful, and spoke quite good English so there were not much communication difficulties.
There appeared to be not much to see or do right around the hotel. One thing that is very convenient about this hotel is that it is located just about 30 seconds walk from the metro station. The metro line will take you right into the city centre quite quickly.
The room was pleasant enough and clean and tidy, although the decor was a little dated. Although the room size was not too small, it was by no means a big room and there was just one suitcase stand (the portable type), so it was a little difficult to put two suitcases somewhere not too obstructive. Overall, it was OK however.
It was rather nice to have an in-room tea/coffee making facilities, and they were happy to bring fresh milk to the room when requested.
The bathroom was very small, although quite functional with very good shower with high water pressure at a stable temperature. I noticed that even if I turned the tap to the highest temperature, the water did not get very hot, so if I was trying to use very hot water for some reason, it may not have been too good.
The room service menu was very limited, with just three somewhat uninspiring main dishes. The restaurant menu was not much better. I cannot comment on the quality of the food itself because I did not eat there because I could not find anything I wanted to eat, so I went elsewhere for dinner.
The Internet connection was through a paid wireless connection. If you do use this Internet connection and decide to shut your computer or let it go into sleep/hibernation mode (with view to reconnecting to the Internet later on), please do remember to log out of the wireless connection by logging into the wireless provider's site before you log off your computer. I did not do this, and I locked myself out of the wireless connection - it kept saying the username was already logged in, although the wireless connection had disconnected when I closed the lid of my computer, and I could not log back in to properly disconnect so that I could connect again. It was my own fault for not logging out properly, but I'm too used to being auto-logged out when the wireless connection is lost. The price for the Internet was pretty much what I'd expect from a hotel (about 3800 HUF for 24 hours, from memory).
Overall, I'd rate this hotel as average - rather disappointing food menu, but the room was clean and the bed was quite comfortable, and everything functioned well.

I stayed at this hotel for a couple of nights in June -07.
It's situated quite far away from the city and even though you can get there easily with the Metro, (tickets available in the gift shop inside the hotel) if you want a night on the town that involves going by taxi.
I don't know what to expect from hotel breakfasts / food in Budapest, but I didn't like the food here at all.
The hotel is rather ugly on the outside, but clean and nice on the inside. Rooms are OK.
If you're getting a good price and don't mind staying far away from the sights and the nightlife, this might be the place for you.
Budapest is just beautiful by the way!

Chose this hotel as it seemed to be the best bang for the buck. Hotel had a BIG workout area and indoor pool. The Metro was being worked on while we were there so we had to take busses to and from the downtown area but this only took :20 minutes or so, the Metro should take even less. If you go out the main door and go left to the Main Street then go left towards the Metro there is a fruit stand sellling cold drinks and fruits snacks and vegtables. If you go left again at the street by the Metro station and go down a long block there is a fair to good restaurant, the food at the hotel was good and plentiful and not too expensive. The cabs seemed to have a goofy price system and you have to call to get a cab rather then get one from a stand or on the street. Internet broke during the second day of our stay, noone seemed to be in a hurry to get it fixed though it only needed a new keyboard. Staff kind of grumpy especially the lady in the gift shop who yakked and yakked on the phone ALL DAY and got mad if you interupted her call so you could purchase something.
